13 years ago today, Snowden exposed the NSA's mass surveillance. And he used Bitcoin to do it.
Not as an investment. Not for "number go up." He just needed to pay for servers without a bank blocking the transaction, without a government tracing his name.
That's what people forget when they look at the price today.
Bitcoin was a tool for freedom before it was an asset. A shield before it was a trade. Snowden understood this in 2013 because he was a visionary — not in the sense of "he saw the price going up," but in the sense of "he saw that state-controlled money could also be a chain."
And us? We flipped the story. We speculate on the shield. We trade the tool. We watch the price of something we forgot the purpose of.
But history doesn't disappear. It waits. Tomorrow we'll wake up to another tool turned asset, another freedom turned commodity.
So the real question is:
What tool are you using today — actually using, every day — that the world will trade and speculate on tomorrow?
