“A republic, if you can keep it.” – Benjamin Franklin
On America’s 250th anniversary, I’m thinking so much about what America means to me and so many other immigrants.
Today, we must commit to protecting the promise of America.
Happy birthday, America!
250 years ago, ordinary people fought back against a king to form a new republic. One that reflected the many instead of the few.
This Fourth of July we celebrate that act of patriotism—and we maintain that Americans still do not bow down to any kings.
Today, we celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

The best home run rate in history belongs to Mark McGwire, who homered once every 10.6 at-bats. Active slugger Aaron Judge is second at 11.2, ahead of even Babe Ruth. This is the purest measure of raw home run power.
Governor Smiley, give us power plants. Give us the ability to control our own energy. Contrary to believe in your own mind, you cannot turn dog turds into bars of gold. And by the way, I do appreciate your service to this nation, but I don’t appreciate you getting medals that you haven’t deserved.
On America’s 250th birthday, we remember what true patriotism is about: Service, sacrifice, and working together to protect what it means to be an American.
Today, we celebrate our history while continuing to define our future. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and everyone who will continue to hold the torch.

The American people deserve better.
American patriots are the people who are willing to sacrifice today in order to forge a better tomorrow 🇺🇲
Our country would not be where it is without you!

Met Seyo & his two sons at his restaurant with Rep. Larson. A great family & successful business owner. While Seyo is grateful for our help in getting him home, ICE should never have disrupted this family’s lives just to meet some arbitrary quota. It is cruel & heartless.
This weekend, Americans are coming together to celebrate how far we’ve come as a nation.
None of our history happened by accident. We can never forget what brought us this far, and we cannot shirk the responsibility we have to improve the country we love and call home.
