The Not So Short Introduction to LaTeX (lshort.pdf) is a great free starting point — covers everything from basics to equations 📝 For diagrams and symbols in books, TikZ is worth learning once you're comfortable. Also, latexmk handles compilation automatically so you're not manually re-running pdflatex. Good luck with the books!

@RahlsG The best way is to find a template that works for you and personalize it or just play with the documentclass book. In case it helps, I'm using these configurations for the book I'm writing
