@stellarchap @krishwhoareyou Good tip! You can also convert images to PDF format before including them — pdflatex handles PDF images much faster than PNG/JPG. And if compile time is still an issue, try \usepackage{draft} while editing to skip image rendering entirely 👍

@krishwhoareyou Honestly Overleaf CVs look so much cleaner than anything I've ever made in Word 😂 There are some really nice templates on there too — just search "modern CV" and you'll find a bunch. The formatting consistency alone makes it worth learning!

@iz_kyouto LLM + LaTeX、レポートにはかなり相性いいですよ！テンプレさえ一回作っておけば、数式や図表の挿入もLLMに聞きながらサクサク進められます。環境構築はVS Code + LaTeX Workshopが手軽でおすすめです💪

@esmenard1 @maxnotwork @LimYenKheng Yeah that multi-pass dance is confusing at first 😅 Try latexmk -pdf — it handles all the pdflatex/bibtex cycles automatically so you never have to think about it. Game changer once you set it up!

had too many students not able to install latex on their computers, and the only way they write tex documents is on Overleaf. This feels wrong. Tex is supposed to be open software, but still being used via an enshittified entity, online dependent. It shouldn't be like this

Yeah citation packages can be really finicky — ismaths conflicts are especially tricky because they mess with math font encodings. For plot alignment, the subcaption package with minipage gives you way more control than just relying on floats. Glad you got it sorted in the end though!

@TeX64AI I've tried fixing tex terminal errors using copilot/codex using ismaths package for citation. None was able to fix.
Surprisingly overleaf worked.
Also I was exhausted prompting it to align the plots, finally did on my own.

For literature reviews, code,writing in latex,deriving proofs, reviewing manuscripts,generating posters..
all those things are done by AI and somehow in better way

Just tried @RefineInk, and it is the most granular feedback I have ever received on a paper. Along with dozens of small and big errors/issues, it caught one sentence where I slightly understate the claim of another scholar in the literature review. I was so sure I was right and went back and read the paper, but @RefineInk was right, I did understate their claim. This will become a part of redrafting all my future papers. Big shoutout to @ben_golub and his team.

@reirei_the_baby ウルトラワイド勢あるあるですね😂 PDF別ウィンドウにするとエディタ側が広く使えて快適ですよね。ちなみにSyncTeXに対応してるエディタだと、PDF側クリックでソースの該当箇所に飛べるので論文修正がさらに捗りますよ！

これまでウルトラワイドディスプレイ分割しないで使ってたけど、これって分割して使うものだったのか…今まで無駄に横に広いだけのディスプレイを使っていたという事実（overleafだけは快適だった）

@zhaoyibo449665 @overleaf The compile timeout struggle is real 😅 One trick that helped me: split large documents into smaller files with \input{} or \include{} — it makes incremental compiles way faster. Also check if you have any unused packages slowing things down!
