@LordGem3 @CoreyWriting Logic games were the easiest section to get perfect/near perfect scores on. Not really convinced removing them has had any large impact on the quality of the test. If anything, I would guess it has improved the signal in the 170+ range.

@CoreyWriting The problem is that we have redefined the tests. I remember getting a perfect score on most of the logic games, which were historically the more challenging part. We just removed that section to make it so more people can qualify to do a job they would struggle with.

Here are the outcome probabilities with resulting win probability. With these calcs: A take has an expected WP of 19.5% A swing has an expected WP of 6.5% There would need to be a 67% chance of called strike for the EV of a swing to meet or exceed the EV of a take.

This is such awful reasoning, man. The odds of a good outcome swinging at a good breaking ball close but out of the zone are much, much lower than the odds of a ball 4 inches low being called a ball

If he takes: Ball 4 Strike 3 (two outcomes, one bad, one good) If he swings: In play, safe (tied 2-2 or win 3-2) Foul Ball (do it again) Swing and miss (game over) In play, out (game over) I think it's the about the same. You have to protect with two strikes, and the umpire ruled it strike three. Not saying that's right or wrong (it's probably wrong), but it's a closer pitch than folks think, that's all.

For baseball nerds like me, this is the problem I have with the ABS system coming to MLB. It was a strike when it crossed the plate. And was correctly called. But by time catcher caught it, looked low. ABS challenge system will call it a ball. I say let the umps call it. FWIW.
