After 18 hours of having a Tesla, I am absolutely convinced it’s going to dominate the car market. The computer vision technology is like none other. It works in rain (traditional difficulty due to non-Lambertian effects) and can “see” cars multiple lanes away. I own a company in the field of tracking, and Tesla is beyond science fiction.

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

We’ve been able to generate physics-accurate, real-time video for self-driving training & testing at @Tesla_AI for a long time. The compute required for this (roughly one H100 per HD camera) is still far too expensive for consumer use, but probably becomes affordable in 2 to 3 years.

Tesla hopes to tape-out, or finalize the design of AI6 by the end of the year. Why it's called "tape-out" The name is a historical leftover from the 1970s–1980s: - Back then, the final chip layout data (the geometric patterns for all the transistors and wires) was literally written onto magnetic tape (or sometimes even created using literal cut-and-tape methods on film). - That tape was physically shipped or delivered to the fab.

@D3GSolutions @BoBbyPleWniaK Telemetry confirmed that the CT was not using FSD. I’ve been using FSD for 5 years. FSD14.2 has improved so much that it is obvious to anyone that uses it (supervised), that it is much safer to use it than not to.
