While social media is polarising, evidence suggests AI may nudge people towards the centre. This holds true of all studied models. Grok is more right-leaning than other models, but also has depolarising effects. By @jburnmurdoch.

Israel has ordered all civilians south of the Litani River in Lebanon to evacuate immediately and move north, issuing a sweeping displacement directive that effectively empties much of the country’s southern border region. The order covers dozens of towns and cities—including Tyre—and could affect hundreds of thousands of people. Lebanese officials say nearly 60,000 people fled in the past 24 hours alone as Israeli airstrikes intensified across southern Lebanon. Residents described chaotic scenes as families fled overnight bombardment with no clear destination. “We don’t know where to go,” Mustafa Arout, a 78-year-old local leader from Mais al-Jabal, told Drop Site News while evacuating with his family. 📌 Read Drop Site’s full report: “Mass Expulsion in Lebanon as Israel Expands War - linked below.

One common issue with personalization in all LLMs is how distracting memory seems to be for the models. A single question from 2 months ago about some topic can keep coming up as some kind of a deep interest of mine with undue mentions in perpetuity. Some kind of trying too hard.

Just horrifying to read this in 2026. 'Mr. Buria [Hegseth's chief of staff] told Mr. Driscoll [the army secretary] that President Trump would not want to stand next to a Black female officer at military events, the officials said.' nytimes.com/2026/03/27/us/…

@MattWalshBlog Assisted death is really the only remaining cause that's worth anything at all. It ought to be a universal human right. People who oppose it, expose their cruelty and/or superstition.
