I don’t get why people are impressed by a guy who is good at reading other people’s speeches. He’s a professional actor. People slobbering all over Mandami. Texas is still red, but running a campaign on James Talarico shares a bank account with his mom, is maybe a vegan, is maybe a little bit gay but also has a hot Latina girlfriend, isn’t really a winning message. Especially when Paxton is so flawed and gave a sweetheart deal to an admitted child molester. Cost of living. Healthcare. That’s what persuadable voters want to hear about.

On the public restroom thing: women should stay out of the men's, men should stay out of the women's. Children too young to go by themselves should go with their parent into the bathroom the parent would normally use.

I don't want my young son seeing random dicks at the urinals in the men's room when my husband takes him out somewhere without me. I also worry that it's dirtier in there. Should my husband take our toddler boy into the women's restroom instead?

There is no goddamn way I would ever walk into a women's restroom with my daughter. Who in their right mind thinks this is appropriate? When my 4 y/o daughter has to go, I take her to the men's room and go in the stall with her. What do these people think goes on in the men's room?

@judyshapiro @owroot Madness that he invaded a woman’s space. Absolutely nothing would happen in a men’s room IF dad is there. The level of decorum and respect in a men’s room is something women can’t fathom.

This is one of these situations I never thought about until I had daughters. I remember I was with one of them one time without my wife and she needed to use the restroom and I had this realization like, "Oh damnit, what do I do?" Generally, what I've done is try to find a place with a small bathroom and hopefully find a worker who looks like she might be a mom and ask her if it's possible if I could take my daughter into the women's restroom to use the restroom and then we hurry in hopes that no one else comes in so they aren't disturbed. They are always super nice and totally understanding. Just zero problem. There's about a zero percent chance I would take my daughter into a large men's restroom at big gas station off the freeway. Good God. I would take her to go find some place in the woods long before I do that. The guy yelling at him at the door is a weirdo obviously and was clearly looking to be mad. You can always tell. They just have an axe to grind and are always ticked. These kinds of things are tough and honestly uncomfortable for everyone involved. It might be a little easier for moms because a mom taking a little boy into her restroom is just something no one would think twice about but the other way is different. Being a parent means being flexible and just trying to get the job done. All you can do is your best.

Thats quite a risk. What if they didn’t side with the father? The men’s room is better for a girl than prison.

"A father can just announce himself before taking his girl into the women's room." Okay, but why isn't that a possibility for the men's room? It's like we're assuming that men as a group can't behave with basic courtesy and situational awareness.
