@KevinMcCurdy Podkolzin is such a great player and is only 24. I hope he plays 1000 games as an oiler. He’ll be an all time favourite Oiler by the time his career finishes. I hope they never trade him and resign him for 7 years when his deal comes up.

Breaking up the Dach-Samanski-Frederic line to keep Henrique in the lineup is a fireable offense IMO. Henrique and Frederic do not and HAVE NEVER WORKED. This coach just can’t get out of his own way.

They have a winning record against all those teams combined and if Drai and Hyman can play they should beat those teams. I agree with you though that their best isn’t as good as the central division

@KevinMcCurdy I’ve seen a post saying since samanski was an emergency recall for Freddy he has to be sent down when Freddy is healthy so it’s most likely a paper move. I’d guess samanski stays up with the team

Just to put this in perspective so far, in Samanski's 175 minutes of 5v5 (18 GP, ~10min/gp) He's 61.5% GF, 55% xGF, and 52% on the faceoff dot. In 6 minutes of PK he's been on for 0 goals against. Baffling.

@JasonGregor @OilersAdam At 10.5 million a year player there’s an expectation to be a point per game player I think the podz and savioe development wasn’t something the fanbase was expecting to happen this year. Both are just going to get better and it’s very exciting.

@KevinMcCurdy Don’t agree here. He doesn’t “goon” it up. He is the hardest hitter I have seen in some time. He also doesn’t peel off a player who releases the puck a stride and half away. He finishes What he needs to do is not accept every challenge. I bet he starts only 20% of his fights.

Kid needs to come back and play smart hockey. Gooning it up has a place, but it can't be your entire identity to make it to the bigs anymore. This kid has the smarts and skill, he needs to focus on that, and enforce to round out the package.

@tyleryaremchuk Come on Tyler he blew right through the blue paint and was skating full speed. It might not be malicious but it was dangerous and you can’t have players explode through goalies like that. It came from up top not a bad call. McDavid does that I’d want the same call to happen.

I’ll give Stan Bowman some credit here. Holland was always too stubborn to admit he was wrong and let his bad signings stay here way too long to try to hope they turn it around. Bowman instantly saw the mistake, got rid of it as soon as he could.
