@dhh The problem with data center public perception is their electricity bills have gone way up in recent years, especially here in the northeast, and they’re getting political mailers in the mail - HUGE part of NJ Gov last year, telling them AI is why their bills are high.

@dhh I work for the world’s largest data center REIT. This is not the problem. The problem is people are assuming their electricity bill increases are because of data centers. People don’t care how they look because they’re out in Secaucus boon land. People are scapegoating $$$.

This is how we turn public opinion around on data centers. Make them as beautiful as temples of the past. Give them aesthetic appeal worthy of the silicon miracles performed inside.

What people who want to cancel property taxes are really advocating for is higher sales taxes and higher income tax The burden of both those is disproportionately carried by young, working families at the height of their income and consumption stage in life

@Keegan59992745 Imo, there's no reason children should vote in this case. It's simple, there's a reason why there's always a cap on age during voting. We have to assume they ain't involved.

I ran the red and blue button experiment at home and my 5 year old son chose the blue button because “thats his favorite color”. What a dumbass. Obviously my wife and I chose red right after. Maybe use your noggin next time Logan.

I try to live in reality. The reality is politicians only do stuff when their job is in jeopardy. Sadly, but reality.

If you think your only power is voting instead of “hey, we voted you in, you’re proposing this BS policy you didn’t run on, what gives?” Or “this policy hurts taxpayers, address this or we won’t x” The system should be more localized and work much closer to this than holding your nose and going into a voting booth every few years.

Representatives in congress make laws. We vote for those reps. If you don’t like any of them, run. Complaining won’t fix it.

Reading people's justifications for pushing the blue button is actually spiking my cortisol levels If everybody pushes red - nothing happens! So why on earth would anyone press blue? It's a needless gamble, but it's being painted as the altruistic decision for some reason

My property tax bill is broken down - X dollars for schools, Y dollars for sewer, Z dollars for trash pickup etc. None of them are offensive or don’t make sense, even at 13k/y. We have very good schools which cost me 6.6k/y. It’s necessary

Like I’ve told so many other on this topic, just because those things exist doesn’t mean the govt gets a blank checkbook to provide them. By your logic, the US military says its trillion dollar budgets are necessary for national security and you think they should have more. What’s the problem? They just told you it was all necessary. Glad we squared that away.
