I co-introduced historic legislation to increase the minimum wage to $25. As someone who taught economics at Stanford, here is why it makes sense. The real minimum wage was $14 in 1968. Today it is half, but productivity has increased 2.5x. Instead of extractive capitalism, we need a free enterprise system that pays workers what they are worth.

This one blows my mind. Veteran has his life savings stolen from him by Navada Highway Patrol. Stephen Lara was driving from Texas to California to visit his daughters. He was pulled over by the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) on I-80 for allegedly following a tanker truck too closely. During the stop: ​Lara was transparent with officers, voluntarily disclosing that he had a large amount of cash—$82,374—stored in his trunk in a zip-top bag. ​He explained that he preferred to keep his life savings in cash due to a distrust of banks and provided receipts to show the money was legally withdrawn from his accounts. ​Despite Lara’s cooperation and the lack of any evidence of a crime (no drugs or illegal items were found), the officers used a drug-sniffing dog to "alert" on the money. ​Under Civil Asset Forfeiture laws, the NHP seized the entire amount and handed it over to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) through a process known as "equitable sharing." Lara, represented by the Institute for Justice (IJ), filed a federal lawsuit to get his money back. The case highlighted several controversial aspects of the legal system: ​Civil Asset Forfeiture: This practice allows the government to seize property suspected of being involved in a crime, even if the owner is never charged or convicted. ​The "Loophole": By handing the money to the DEA, the NHP could bypass Nevada’s stricter state laws regarding forfeiture and receive up to 80% of the proceeds back from the federal government. After months of legal pressure and growing media attention, the DEA eventually agreed to return the full $82,374 to Lara. It's unbelievable that anyone would have to go through all of this, but even worse one of our heros that served for our county. My opinion they should have had to pay interest on the money they basically stole from him.

@rushicrypto Unless you're in an inner city environment, dealers usually aren't out on a corner serving people on the street. Teenagers, like everyone else, find dealers via community connections built over time (>10min). It's not impossible to infiltrate and map out, but it's not trivial.

No. This is not actually a choice that women need to make. Almost everyone is confused about this, because the actual, functional mating customs of civilized humanity were almost entirely lost in the baby boomer great reset. In civilized humans, courtship between the sexes is initiated by the female. This is why civilized men hate cold approaching, and only r-selecting knuckledraggers are comfortable with the practice... along with men who have killed off their natural distaste for it because they had to learn it out of sheer necessity. Women generally hate this idea, because they don't like cold approaching, either. But I did not say cold approach. I said "initiate". What a woman is supposed to do, according the customs of actual civilization with functional mating rituals, is see a man she thinks she might like, and covertly signal an invitation to approach. This invitation is the first measure of a graceful social dance, where the steps are known to both partners. The signal is to be clear enough that the man understands its intent, but subtle enough that it can be plausibly denied if he proves to be distasteful on closer examination. It is then the man's responsibility to overtly approach and court. But this is not a cold approach, because he knows he has been invited. His responsibility is to not screw up a good beginning. Thus, no one is cold approaching. Look at the cartoon. You've seen it before. And this indeed how it works... but only in a broken culture. Because when both sexes understand their roles, the difference between the top and bottom panels isn't whether the man is objectively attractive or not, but whether Susan dropped a hint. One compromise/ reform that could end the standoff of DHS funding: ICE agents henceforth won’t wear masks in any situation where other law enforcement officers don’t wear masks, courthouses, the streets of our cites, etc. Masks are reserved for the lawless zone along the border where the cartels dominate.
