A statement is not a performative act; it’s the very least a leader of a major party hoping to form the next gov’t can do. The 2SLGBTQ+ community is a major constituency and stakeholder group in this country: and one that’s hurting as homophobic and transphobic rhetoric and legislation become increasingly common at the provincial/state level. We were informed today that the Government of Alberta is discontinuing funding their portion of the Low Income Transit Pass program in Edmonton and Calgary. Each month, this program is accessed by over 25,000 low-income Edmontonians, Students, and Seniors who require public transit access to get to work, school, medical appointments and other services. Defunding this program will make living more expansive for 25,000 Edmontonians.  #yegcc
