I was shocked to know that China has around 50,000 km of this HSR network and it only started building this in 2008. On directly competitive routes, Chinese HSR has led to a 24.6% reduction in flights and a 28.2% decrease in air passenger volume.

@thomasjuneau As long as Israel is involved in precision executions of possible Iranian interlocutors, it appears there will be no peace and no ceasefire. Trump is now simply a distraction.

If there is a ceasefire soon - a BIG if - we are not back to the pre-war status quo (Iran will be weakened but vengeful & will have set the precedent of blocking Hormuz). But nothing will have been resolved - and the cycle of violence will seriously risk repeating itself.
