Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) just went on record admitting that he and Sen. Ted Cruz crafted a perfect off-ramp to end the month-long DHS shutdown, but Donald Trump personally killed it because he wouldnโt accept โany dealโ with Democrats.
Kennedy explained: โSen. Cruz and I came up with a plan. We said, look, it's a two-step process. The Democrats have offered to open up everything but ICE. Ted and I said, "Okay, let's accept their offer.
And at the same time, we would offer a bill for reconciliation that wouldn't require any Democratic votes to do whatever we wanted with ICE. And that way, we're out of the shutdown, and DHS is back open.
โIt would have worked. We could have had TSA paid by the end of the week. But the President said no deal.โ
The result? TSA agents remain unpaid, over 400 have quit, airport lines are endless, travelers are furious, and Trump is holding the entire system hostage because heโd rather score political points than solve the crisis.
Democrats have offered TSA-only funding eight times; Republicans have blocked it every time. The shutdown drags on while Trump demands total surrender on his SAVE America Act instead of taking the win Cruz and Kennedy handed him.
This is Trumpโs midterm strategy in action: keep chaos alive, blame Democrats, and hope voters punish them in November, even if it means punishing American travelers, unpaid federal workers, and national security in the process.

This is absolutely insane:
At 7:04 AM ET today, President Trump said โthe US and Iran have had productive discussions" to end the Iran War.
By 7:10 AM ET, the S&P 500 surged +240 points adding +$2 TRILLION in market cap.
27 minutes later, Iran completely denied all of President Trump's claims and said there has been "no contact" with the US.
By 8:00 AM ET. the S&P 500 had fallen -120 points erasing -$1 trillion in market cap.
That's a $3 TRILLION swing market cap in 56 minutes, just in the S&P 500.
What is happening here?
