Pretty easy to see how the midterms are likely to go from here, if you're willing to question your sunk-cost priors and accept The Reality. Sure, gas prices are temporarily high and ground beef is persistently above $6. But is the electorate, which is likely to be 70%+ over the age of 45 and 70%+ white, going to be attracted to the likes of Oystergrappenfuhrer Graham Platner and SCOVA Denier Mark Warner? And yes, the few remaining "restrained" Democrats like Chris Pappas in NH and Mallory McSorrow in MI will try to distance themselves from the lawless left, but their presence on ballots "incurably taints" them all, to quote the esteemed Supreme Court of Virginia. Pretty easy to see how the midterm voter quietly enters the voting booth and checks the box for Collins, Rogers, Whatley, Sununu, Mike Collins, Paxton/Cornyn, et al. Better the boring Republicans you know than the chaotic troublemakers you don't.

Matt, let's be real. 2 GOP candidates are in the top 3. The "blame MAGA for California's problems" narrative is wearing out thin, because it's obviously stupid & dishonest. IMO, you're likely the most competent Dem candidate on the field. But in the polls, you're only at 7% according to CADEM. Obviously, that's because the CA Dem political establishment is corrupt. Corrupt and narrow interested (D) political machines have a strangle hold on CA's democracy, and Steyer thinks he can buy his way to be Governor. In truth, California's problem isn't MAGA, it's the corrupt Democrat Establishment Mafia. The true solution for a Dem candidate is to clean up the CA Democratic party.

Californians are tired of having to choose between MAGA chaos or a failing status quo. So am I. That's why I'll be a problem-solver for California.
