$5500. I can cover the labor which is almost $1700. And the mechanic has worked with us before, but he can’t pay for the transmission himself upfront and then have us pay back over time. The tranny needs to be paid first. Then we’ll work out the labor cost later

I walked into a Burger King today and immediately noticed a giant sign sitting right at the counter that honestly made the whole place feel weirdly serious 😭🥤 “NO REFILLS ON FOUNTAIN DRINKS. NEW POLICY. ONE CUP, ONE FILL. THIS IS FINAL.” Like… FINAL?? 💀 Not gonna lie, I actually stopped for a second because free refills have basically been part of fast food culture forever. You grab your drink… eat your food… maybe refill it once before leaving. That’s just normal. But now it feels like even the smallest customer perks are disappearing one by one while prices keep climbing higher every few months. And the crazy part is… fountain soda is probably one of the cheapest things in the entire restaurant to make. It’s basically: 🥤 syrup 💧 carbonated water 🧊 ice That’s it. So when a place suddenly becomes super strict about refills, it doesn’t FEEL like some massive financial emergency. It feels more like: “If we take this away, people will complain for a week… then eventually get used to it.” And honestly, THAT’S the part people hate most. Because fast food used to feel simple: cheap food, quick service, little perks like free refills. Now it feels like: 📈 higher prices 📉 smaller portions ❌ fewer extras Meanwhile customers are expected to act like nothing changed. And look, I know some people are gonna say: “It’s just a soda refill.” Sure. But it’s not really about the soda. It’s about paying more while slowly getting less every year. Today it’s: ❌ no refills Tomorrow it’s: ❌ extra charge for sauces ❌ fewer napkins ❌ cup fees ❌ “large ice surcharge” 😭 At some point people start noticing the pattern. If the refill policy changes, fine… but keeping drink prices the same while removing something customers always expected is what makes it feel frustrating.
