If you needed one more reason to hate United Health, today I had a “peer to peer” about getting a CT scan for a patient. The “peer” was an orthopaedic surgeon who does insurance review full time and hasn’t practiced in 8 years. How is this not malpractice?

@jointdocShields @DeviceNation Another box opener chiming in…talked with a surgeon the other day about mod necks and metal metal.. “we made bad surgery more forgiving short term instead of making good surgery better. If DM is subbed for bad component position, I also fear mid/long term failures

@united The gate attendant stated the overhead bins were full and they forced the rest of the passengers to check their carryons. If that’s not the reason, then deceiving customers should not be the protocol.

@united forcing customers in group 3 to check carryons when there is plenty of room on the plane is inexcusable. Especially when the flight attendant is relaying that information to the gate. 20 minutes of my trip waiting for my bag wasted.

@jointdocShields I don’t think that even Steven Howell would argue that this should be the result of calipered KA. This tibia was cut without any regard for medial bone loss. If the goal is to restore pre arthritic alignment in addition to joint line, then this surgery failed those goals.

These X-rays are from another app, citing the amazing advantages of unrestricted KA TKA I am really worried about early aseptic loosening and failure. Certainly easier to balance, but rarely do I find that easier equals better - thoughts from #orthotwitter
