My older brother’s girlfriend had a father who was literally a delivery driver for a butcher. So they actually got quite a bit of meat. One time there was a roast that apparently had freezer burn and they gave it to my brother. He brought it home and started to give it to the dog. My mom took it from him and cooked it for dinner. When you have six kids who cares about freezer burn!

I’m a few years older than you, have brothers older than me and the same age as you. I can recall having London broil but never steak at home. My dad would literally debone the chickens and cut them up so that you couldn’t tell which piece was which so that we didn’t fight over who got what. Pork chops were much more frequent than any sort of beef other than the ground variety. I can recall beef in a vegetable beef soup. My mom would make casserole turkey tetrazzini. Red beans and rice with sausage. Sometimes we’d have grits and eggs for dinner. Gumbo and jambalaya were pretty typical in the rotation.

My childhood ran from 1966-84. We were middle class. We had steak a few times a year max. It was an event.

They LIKE you to use the credit more! Mine hovers around 800, sometimes drops, sometimes rises. I paid off my house before I retired so literally have no debt. I actually benefited when I took out another credit card. Wanted one to use for a specific vendor so could track it more easily.

@CardioNP @RobProvince It took me 25 years building my credit through cards, secured loans and a mortgage and mine finally reached 800's. Very low credit usage with about $130k available credit card limit not used and have never ever missed a payment on anything. Crazy

@CynicalPublius In the 80s a friend helped me repair the brakes on my 66 Mustang in their parents driveway. Skipped lunch at work b/c couldn't afford it. Got free 4oz juice per day - that was lunch. Cooked beans/rice. Don't recall eating fast food much at all - couldn't afford it.

In the 80s my furniture was from Goodwill, I fixed my 1972 Chrysler with parts from the junkyard, ramen was my primary food source and I recall having Wonder Bread toast with mustard for dinner because that's all I could afford. Gen Z has created an America that never existed.

boomers who spent the 80s and 90s drunk driving from work to cheap restaurants to eat 5$ steak dinners on their way to drunk driving home to their cheap houses bought on one income want me to eat cut up hot dogs on crackers

@CyborgPeds having been active in gardening communities for decades, there are many entitled a**holes that I've encountered who would do so. all about having that rare limited availability plant. many gardens omit labels to reduce theft.

My brother had a 72 Chevelle w manual transmission. He converted it to manual after HS! After college sold it to buy a new Camaro. Someone ran a light and totaled his Camaro. Don't think he's owned a new car since then. He now has a 80s diesel pickup to tote around his outrigger and surfski canoes that he paddles.

For 48 hours I’ve been dealing with crybabies bitching about lunch sandwiches, home prices, the dollar and inflation. None of those f&gs would have a clue as to how to drive or control this beast. There’s a direct correlation between muscle cars and the downfall of capitalism and our economy. They blame boomers, I blame paddle shifters, ABS breaks, traction control and air bags. Man the fuck up, or get the fuck out of the way. Cc @Shr00msy @drsuffy @fakeftedd

In declining the document requests, the report noted CalPERS’ statement: “The public interest in disclosure is clearly outweighed by the public interest in nondisclosure.” CalPERS has fought state legislation requiring more transparency:

Overtime. Now overtime is a non starter. So this guy wants what everyone before him has but won’t do a single thing they did to get it.

@LibertyJen You people are fucking delusional. Young people are out future. What's with this disgusting animus you have for young people? You're describing no one here. No one wants a 1.6m dollar house. You're retarded. We just want to not have to work over time just to have basic shit.
