Thank you Minnesota Harness Racing, Inc @Running_Aces for creating this graphic. There is so much more that goes into horse racing that goes beyond what happens at the track. Wherever racing occurs, it leaves an impact. Not only with the fans and bettors at the track, but within the communities. Just imagine the hole left within the economy of those communities where horse racing is currently going on. Minnesota horse racing(Thoroughbred and Harness)is approaching a critical crossroads. Declining foal crops and purses along with a state legislature hindering the tracks ability to pursue alternative avenues for generating revenue to bolster purses feels like the final nails are all but struck into the coffin of the sport continuing with the state of MN. If only there was a group within our industry that could assist regions like ours that are trying to thrive against adversity. @westlakeracing @PastTheWire @RepoleStable @rail_talk

The no response from the Breeder's Cup sounds about right. The MN breeders reached out to them when funds were low asking for assistance in funding the yearling sale. They were not interested in helping. You'd think with members of Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland apart of these boards, that some type of program to help the state breeders get as many eyes as possible on the future of our sport would be within their interests. I know not all areas need it, but for those that might or would rather go with auction houses familiar with our industry, I'd try to create a small traveling auction group if I was FT or Keeneland and then bill BC, TOBA, and TJC as a marketing expense trying to promote the industry.

Former @CanterburyPark jockey Serafin Carmona went down @OaklawnRacing and is hospitalized with a broken C4, is heavily sedated and on a vent. His partner, Sofia Barandela, has set up a Go Fund Me to help defray medical expenses. gofund.me/045cbe8cb
