Thought I’d properly introduce myself for everyone I’ve connected with in the past couple of days! I’m 24, from the UK (just north of London). I work in Sales & Marketing, since I was 18, and been self employed since I was 19. I’ve had a bit of a journey with investing. Mainly started with crypto at the beginning when I was younger, DCAing into Bitcoin and Ethereum during the 2022 and 2023 crash primarily. I used to have a decent ISA size, around £64k before pulling funds out to use elsewhere. My main focus now is to put as much into my ISA as possible, both growth and dividends. Would like to ‘retire’ early, through dividends. My portfolio is heavily weighted towards growth as I have enough of a time horizon. I like cars, travelling, spending time with my family, crypto & stocks! From yesterday’s post, thanks all for the recent support. I’ve realized the real life hack is how fast you can reset. Bad interaction? Reset. Off day? Reset. Missed workout? Reset. Made a dumb call? Reset. You don’t control everything that happens, but you do control how long you carry it.

@UKsterlings I’m glad you got through that. Mine was just a rough patch I came out of. No single moment, just a decision to move in a better direction.

What made you start investing. Was there a single moment where you was like it’s time to start? For me, I lost 50k over the last 3 years gambling and in crypto 🫩 I said to myself at the start of the year, this year has to be different and learnt about isa’s and investing smartly

@swaptoro14 I can relate to this. I don’t claim to have all the answers either, but I try to offer an ear to listen and a hand to pull people up

I talk to people who are struggling mentally. Not because I have all the answers. But because I know how it feels when no one shows up. That silence. That pressure in your chest. That feeling like you’re fighting something no one can see. I’ve been there. So when someone reaches out, I don’t ignore it. I don’t judge it. I stay. Not to fix them. But to remind them they’re not alone anymore.

To all men who survived rock bottom, what’s one piece of advice would you give a man who feels like giving up right now

Cold callers/outbound diallers. How are you staying mentally stimulated while dialling? I just end up fidgeting with whatever’s on my desk. Need ideas.

@Chris_Orlob Big fan of using full name and the assumptive close. I always use the phrase “what I’m gonna do for you is…” It keeps the call moving and gives it direction.
