GM ☕🇬🇧 Saw this on Reddit. 19 years old. 6 months into investing. £4,000 deposited. Down £68 overall. But here’s the interesting part. His index pie (S&P 500, FTSE All-World, NASDAQ 100, World Small Cap) is up 3.7%. Green. Doing exactly what it should. His individual stock picks? All red. $ALP: -32% $ACHR: -17% $GCDT: -6% $IONQ: -5% $RR: -4% $ALB: -5% The ETFs are carrying the portfolio. The stock picks are dragging it down. He’s 19 and learning this lesson with £4k instead of £40k. That alone puts him ahead of most people. If he listens to what his own numbers are telling him, he’ll be fine.

@100kDiary For me has too many ETFs too. Pick 1-2 and watch it grow📈 don’t over diversify and spread yourself thin over multiple picks.
