@CasualFighting @HaterReport This is where you’re missing the point though. Once SGA has the defender beat, they keep reaching & he makes them pay. OKC is better about not reaching in these situations. The contact is allowed both ways, but SGA is better at putting defenders in bad positions than most.

This is why people get so annoyed with SGA. He doesn’t even NEED to foul bait. Bro can get buckets playing ethical basketball.

@CasualFighting @HaterReport It’s also important to note where the pressure is applied by defense. OKC uses a lot of pressure to keep you in front of them. Once you’re by, they have two 7’ bigs ready help clean up. Refs allow hand fighting, but blow whistle when they perceive advantage.

@OneFlyMule @HaterReport that would make sense if they were getting called and another guy was coming in to pester, but they’re bottom 10 in the league in fouls called against, they don’t get called nearly how they should

@CasualFighting @HaterReport OKC is stacked w/defenders. Dort gets in foul trouble? You’ve got 3 more ppl behind him that will play the same way. Every teams tries to play the way OKC does, not every team has the depth to sustain the intensity.

@OneFlyMule @HaterReport i think a lot of peoples main issue is that OKC is nothing but aggressive defenders and Shai still shoots more than entire other teams Caruso and Dort mug people and because of their reputation as hard nose defenders its seen as good defense instead of hacking

This straw poll was done before the last Lakers-OKC game, with Luka just winning another POM after a historic month. And nothing's he's done affected the vote at all. This clearly proves that it doesn't matter what he does on the court. He'll never win an MVP with these voters.

@BboyLooseFit @Kanesburner @thundercudi OKC had 64 points in the paint. This game was over in the 1st quarter. The discrepancy is more due to the fact OKC didn’t need to drive into contact bc of the lead. LA needed contact bc they couldn’t make anything. OKC out scored LA in the paint as well.

@Kanesburner @thundercudi I already told you why is there a big gap between the FTAs. And maybe I exaggerated a bit with the 40. That one might be right. I still think they foul a lot, but anyways the FTA disparity comes from difference in 3pt shots and drives.

@MatejSportinfo OKC blitzed and pressured Reeves too. OKC forced turnovers & pushed the pace bc Lakers could get back on D. Then Lakers collapsed D on SGA & he made them pay by making the right reads.

Luka getting blitzed at halfcourt by all-defense players, while SGA gets to cook LaRavia and Bronny one on one. But the context doesn't matter at all, does it.
Carson Breber@Carsobi

H2H over last two seasons (5 games) Luka: 20.0/6.4/6.0, 4.2 TOVs on 53.9% TS, -46 +/-, 1-4 record Shai: 33.0/5.8/7.2, 1.2 TOVs on 65.0% TS, +69 +/-, 4-1 record Shai has been the *resoundingly* better player in 4 of 5 games - like, in a different stratosphere

@Jsmithhhh55 They were healthy for that game. End of five game road trip they fell apart in second half of that game. They looked gassed. But credit to Celtics 3-point shooting that night.

@aharden2 @SloHoopsFan That’s bc when the Lakers doubled or collapsed the defense on his drives, SGA made good passes to find find open shooters. Luka turned the ball over or took bad shots baiting for fouls.

Luka is getting doubled all game, and picked up full court. This is where role players need to step up and make some shots, but nothing goes in. Meanwhile OKC role players are making almost every 3. This is why Luka should be MVP for dragging this roster to the 3rd seed.

@Sp3ctr77 @PranavSriraman Lakers defensive plan was to pack paint & force supporting cast beat them. SGA found the open man or made the right pass & oKC knocked down open shots. 90% of NBA players can make those open shots when it feels like practice bc no pressure from defense.

That genuinely might be the ass-beating of the season. Lakers are just completely physically and athletically overwhelmed on both ends by OKC. They eat Luka alive. He’s averaged 15.5 PPG with 5.0 TOVs on 43.4% TS with a -56 +- in two games vs. OKC this year. Real numbers. Yeesh.
