I've created a shareable deck to describe the problems with our food supply and how we need to help shape food culture. I hope this helps spring conversations about how bad things are broken and what to do about it. #CleanEating Part 1: The Problems 🧵(1/3)

@dr_ericberg This is part of the problems in the food chain. You think you buy "peanuts" and you get "Peanuts + Bad Stuff"! Organic helps, but even many organic items are just an extension of this, with many having similar tainted ingredients! x.com/Processedisjun…

Conventional peanuts, strawberries, coffee, tea, chocolate, spinach, and oats are often heavily treated with pesticides and herbicides such as glyphosate. Choosing organic versions of these foods may help reduce chemical exposure.

@Processedisjunk @sciencegirl Idk about anyone else but the past few years I've noticed ground beef has a much different texture and taste isn't what it used to be. I've found this at different stores and brands, it just ain't right anymore.

@PepesFanGirl @WallStreetApes @US_FDA I am glad to see the changes at the federal level. But government no matter who is in charge will always be too slow. Thats why consumer action against companies is first priority in my mind, and regulatory in parallel.

Thanks for keeping on top of this. We need a full on boycott campaign and to be consistent together. In your last slide you mention that we need to send the message by not buying it. Also why aren't we ALL calling out the @US_FDA ? Aren't they supposed to be a food safety agency? There's no transparency, they let them slip these chemicals in and bugs into our food. A full on tagging FDA loudly needs to occur. Get the attention of @Potus and @DOGE to audit the FDA. I mean what do they even do?

I verified this and it’s true “Lab-grown chocolate is coming to shelves in 2027. Oreo, Cadbury and Toblerone are already funding the Israeli biotech producing it because a lab is cheaper than a farm” “Cadbury has been quietly replacing your chocolate — This dairy milk isn't legal chocolate in 27 countries, the cocoa butter was replaced with vegetable fat, a cheap blend of 6 industrial oils. What remains is diluted with polyglycerol — Soon even that gets replaced, you'll be eating cells grown in a pharmaceutical tank” Cadbury Dairy Milk (in the UK and many markets) has included vegetable fats (like palm and shea) alongside cocoa butter for years. UK/EU regulations allow up to 5% non-cocoa vegetable fats in chocolate if it meets minimum cocoa solids (20%) and other standards. In America standards are much lower - For milk chocolate specifically: Only 10% chocolate liquor, 12% milk solids, and 3.39% milk fat are required “Exposer flagged lead in cadmium traces with an ultra processing warning”

🚨 THE MCDONALD’S CEO DOESN’T WANT YOU TO SEE THIS: WOMAN OPENS 24-YEAR-OLD MCDONALD’S "PRODUCTS" — THEY STILL HAVEN’T ROTTED A woman says she bought a McDonald’s meal in 1996 and kept it sealed in a box in her closet. First she shows the fries. Weirdly preserved. Then she opens the burger. No mold. No rot. No real decay. The whole thing is basically frozen in time. Real food is supposed to break down. Real food is supposed to rot. This doesn't. So if this “food” can sit in a box for 24 years and still look the same… what the hell are they actually serving people?

A Subway Sandwich Artist shows how they make their Tuna He drops it on the ground and scoops it right back into the bowl and dishes it into the containers A 2021 lawsuit in California showed Subway tuna contains no Tuna DNA. The tuna is so heavily processed there is no trace of DNA left that can be detected with testing This claim was proven true by another investigation The New York Times commissioned DNA testing on samples from Subway tuna sandwiches collected in Los Angeles. The lab reported: “No amplifiable tuna DNA was present in the sample,” meaning they couldn’t detect or identify tuna DNA from specific species they tested

@SecKennedy exactly this. have your free will, but please be aware of your donuts having tons of processed ingredients. should we consumers ask for them to do better? As someone who bakes I'm certain they can. I'm not at home adding maltodextrin... x.com/Processedisjun…

Fun...as I learn more about these fun additives, instead of listening to the words "mono-and diglycerides," I am singing the side effects in my head...its a nice beat... may-be car-cin-ogenic, heart attack, weakens my immune system, and INTESTINAL INFLAMMATION, ..Yeah!!!

Maltodextrin is the worst of their glazed ingredients. Extensive chemical and enzyme modifications used as an artificial thickener. Causes inflammation and worsens IBS. Enough of this junk. Adjust the starch without this! #CleanEating (3/3)

As a baker I make glazes for food. Easiest is a bit of lemon juice and powdered sugar. Why does Dunkin’ need all these additives? May make the process easier but not for your body to digest! (2/3)
