Yesterday, 186 Democrats voted to protect criminal illegal aliens who defraud American taxpayers. In Florida alone, ICE has arrested over 400 illegal aliens on fraud charges. I voted to pass H.R. 1948, the Deporting Fraudsters Act, to protect hardworking Americans and hold criminals accountable – without loopholes or unnecessary delays.

During the State of the Union, @POTUS shared Dalilah’s story and called on Congress to act. At just five years old, Dalilah’s life was changed forever when an illegal alien driving a semi-truck crashed into her and her family. I cosponsored Dalilah’s Law and voted today to advance it out of the @TransportGOP Committee. This bill strengthens commercial driver’s license (CDL) standards, enforces English proficiency, and protects Americans on the road.

There have now been four jihadist attacks on the US homeland in the last two weeks & our Dept of Homeland Security remains shut down by Congressional Democrats, as a protest against enforcing federal immigration law. Just today, 46 of 47 Senate Dems voted to keep DHS closed.

Republicans are fighting to put American families first. The Working Families Tax Cuts I voted to pass delivers historic tax relief for families by permanently boosting the Child Tax Credit, making adoption more affordable, and helping businesses provide childcare for working families. I will continue to champion policies that make raising a family more affordable, and expand opportunities for the next generation of Americans.

I just voted to pass legislation to end the Democrats’ shutdown of DHS and support the men and women who protect our homeland. For weeks, Coast Guard servicemembers have continued carrying out their missions without pay, and TSA officers have continued to keep our airports secure despite the shutdown. It is critical that DHS receives the funding necessary to protect Americans and prevent any potential threats.

Yesterday, I joined @SecRollins as she signed a disaster declaration to support Florida’s farmers and agricultural producers following the recent damaging cold front. This declaration comes after my colleagues and I in the Florida delegation sent a letter urging USDA to approve this request. The declaration unlocks access to critical USDA resources – including emergency loans, grants, and other recovery programs to help Florida’s farmers and producers recover.

The families of Coasties should not bear the burden of funding lapses. Those deployed to Bahrain and serving worldwide deserve certainty at home while protecting national security abroad.

“Democrats withholding funding for the department in the midst of rapidly mounting crises is the definition of irresponsibility.” Well said Mr. Speaker.
Speaker Mike Johnson@SpeakerJohnson

Regarding the Democrat DHS shutdown, the time has come to make a few things clear: It is inexcusable that Democrats continue to shut down the American government over and over, hurting American citizens and jeopardizing the security of our homeland — on purpose — to protect illegal aliens. In the fall, Democrats shut down the government to try to give American taxpayer funded health care benefits to illegal aliens. Now, they have shut down the government again for the expressed purpose of making sure known criminal illegal aliens including child molesters and murderers can continue living in American neighborhoods. These are truly the worst of the worst. House Republicans already did our job and passed the bicameral, bipartisan-negotiated bill providing full-year funding to the Department of Homeland Security, which also includes crucial agencies like TSA, FEMA, the Coast Guard, Secret Service, and many others. The insanity of the Democrat DHS shutdown comes at the expense of our own American citizens who pay taxes and demand and deserve safe and efficient travel at our airports, assistance when natural disasters occur, and secured borders for safe communities. And yet, thanks to the ongoing Democrat DHS shutdown, FEMA operations are disrupted following a historic season of winter storms on the East Coast, TSA agents are working another week without pay, the Secret Service is going unfunded while another armed attempt was made recently on President Trump’s life, and our nation witnessed an act of terrorism in Texas over the weekend. Perhaps most crucially of all, the military action in Iran makes it all the more urgent and crucial to have a fully staffed, fully funded Department of Homeland Security across all departments. Democrats withholding funding for the department in the midst of rapidly mounting crises is the definition of irresponsibility. Republicans in the House and Senate continue to demonstrate over and over that our Number One priority is to serve and protect the American people. And we will do so again this week, when we bring the House-passed full-year DHS funding bill to the floor of the House again for a vote. If the Democrat Party ever wants to begin correcting the impression that they prioritize the welfare of illegal aliens over the welfare of the American people, this will be the week to start.

Yes, the State Department is actively securing military aircraft and charter flights for American citizens who wish to leave the Middle East. We've been in direct contact with nearly 3,000 Americans abroad. American citizens should call 1-202-501-4444 for assistance with departure options.
Dan Lamothe@DanLamothe

Good copy. Can we also address whether any mil-air or chartered flights out of the region are anticipated? Fellow citizens have questions and concerns.

181 years ago, Florida officially joined the United States as the 27th state in the union. What began as a frontier territory has grown into a model of freedom, economic opportunity, and constitutional governance. Today, the Sunshine State serves as an example to what principled leadership can achieve. From its year-round tropical climate to its dynamic economy, Florida has long been a place of opportunity. With low taxes, a strong job market, and defense of parental rights, it’s no wonder that over 23 million people call Florida home. I am proud to represent the freest state in the nation and remain committed to preserving the freedoms and opportunities that make our state such a great place to call home.

The death of Ayatollah Khamenei makes the world a safer place. For decades, the Iranian regime has proven itself in opposition to U.S. interests, values, and security. Under his rule, Iran became the global sponsor of terror, funding proxies that attacked U.S. troops and our allies, and brutalized its own citizens at home, killing and imprisoning thousands who dared to pursue freedom. I have long agreed with @POTUS that Iran cannot obtain a nuclear weapon, and the President has given Iran ample opportunity to negotiate. After repeated warnings and clear red lines ignored, President Trump authorized Operation Epic Fury to defend American interests and eliminate dangers posed by the regime’s continued nuclear ambitions. I join President Trump in pursuing peace in the region, and throughout the world. May God bless the courageous men and women of the United States Armed Forces.

The Iranian regime has time and again proven itself to be in opposition to U.S. interests, values, and security. I have long agreed with @POTUS that Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon. President Trump afforded the Iranian regime opportunity to secure a deal, but the regime again crossed the President’s redline.  May God be with the brave men and women of the United States military.

As I continue working to rein in wasteful spending and restore fiscal discipline, I begin with my own salary and office budget. Every year, I voluntarily reduce my congressional pay and find ways to reduce spending in my congressional office. To date, I have saved nearly $6 million in taxpayer dollars. Washington needs more leaders who lead by example.
