This week, @TransportGOP passed Dalilah’s Law to increase roadway safety and protect American families. It's simple, those who cannot read the signs on our highways or understand the rules of the road have no business getting behind the wheel of an 80,000-pound vehicle.
Inspired by Dalilah Coleman from Bakersfield who survived a horrific six-car pileup caused by an illegal immigrant driving an 18-wheeler, this bill would ensure each truck driver on America’s roads is qualified and legally operating. I am proud to stand with the Colemans and work with them to ensure no other family endures what they have.

I am so grateful that the House Republicans passed Dalilah’s Law out of @TransportGOP Committee.
What happened to Dalilah Coleman is a tragedy that could have been PREVENTED if California had not granted commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens who should have never been here in the first place.
Under President Trump's leadership, we have worked to deliver justice for the families impacted by illegal alien crime and have ensured that the tragedies they endured will no longer continue.

I was honored to join Dalilah, her parents, and my colleagues at a @RepublicanStudy roundtable this morning highlighting the importance of safety on American roads.
Dalilah’s Law will honor her and other victims by requiring English Language proficiency requirements for CDL drivers.
Too many innocent American lives have been lost or forever changed at the hands of illegal aliens driving 80,000-pound commercial vehicles who can’t read the road signs. I’m happy to see Dalilah’s Law pass out of @TransportGOP and urge the House to pass it ASAP!

Today, House Republicans passed Dalilah’s Law out of @TransportGOP Committee. At only five years old, Dalilah Coleman suffered life-altering injuries when an 18-wheeler struck the vehicle carrying her and her family. Dalilah’s Law strengthens CDL requirements to ensure drivers who operate 80,000-pound trucks are properly vetted, trained, and able to safely operate on America’s roadways.

In 2024, five-year-old Dalilah Coleman suffered severe injuries when the vehicle she was riding in was struck by a tractor trailer in Southern California. The large truck was being driven by an illegal immigrant who was deported a year later. Dalilah will courageously battle the effects of her injuries for the rest of her life. That’s why I am proud to cosponsor Dalilah’s Law, which will be voted on in the House Transportation Committee today. It strengthens CDL requirements, tightens safety standards, and requires truck drivers to be able to read and understand English on the roads. I agree with President Trump that this is must-pass legislation.
