@SaveSection9 @jlef423 You don’t house you. And you don’t pay more in taxes than you take out of the system. Otherwise it would be called private housing and not public housing.

$1M split between 3 sites is an insult. @hakeemjeffries should be securing $2B for @NYCHA annually for #publichousing so our homes can be repaired instead roofs and cameras will be installed giving folks a false sense of security all while $1M is generated in rent PER campus

Sadly the mayor’s proposals aren’t to raise taxes SOLELY on wealthy landowners it affects all properties including the many working class Black NYers that live in my district, so I’m actually listening to MY constituents. However, I’ve always supported a mansion tax.

Our tears go out to the family of 7-month-old Kaori Patterson-Moore. She is the latest victim of disinvestment in #publichousing gangs have filled the gap left by community centers that used to provide services for our teens; are now private. We must invest in Sec9 holistically.

A 7-month-old baby was shot and killed today in Brooklyn — an unthinkable loss. I’m grateful for the hospital staff who did everything they could and the NYPD for their ongoing work to find those responsible for this heinous murder. We cannot accept this violence as normal. Too many families have suffered this pain.

We also need to be asking what #taxtherich funds Section 9 #publichousing isn’t a beneficiary but @NYCMayor supports its demolition why not rehab +expand it to address the affordability crisis?

If your entire budget analysis is “tax the rich,” you may not actually understand the budget. That’s exactly why we need a more transparent process and a more informed public debate. I’ve always supported progressive taxation btw, but that can’t be the only thing we discuss.
