There's a lot of names being thrown around as to who #LeafsForever    could acquire to solidify the D core(Tanev, Borgen, Murphy, etc.). Here's something most fans won't want to hear: None of them really move the needle on a fully healthy Leafs team. Don't overthink it and... Move the damn 1st for Noah Hanifin. He's the only defenceman available who will truly improve the unit. Would instantly become the 2nd best defenceman by a considerable margin, and is a legit top pairing guy. The cap is there to extend him as well. Rielly-Brodie Hanifin-McCabe Gio-Lily Timmins The other guys proposed are really no better than anyone already on the team. Tanev would be an alright consolation prize but again, he's not much of an upgrade and comes with a laundry list of prior injuries. Do not overthink this and try bargain shopping.
