@TheCricketerMag @NickFriend1 There's always something though , today its the head of our 'Ethics' Committee and his distasteful comments about the Grenfell fire, a tragedy that occurred within walking distance of Lords

@WatfordPod @TheAthleticFC Sensible stuff financially and expect us to fall further down the table given who came up this season and the likes of Sissoko and almost certainly Louza moving on. But really hammers home how difficult it'll be to be in future promotion shake ups.

To @Middlesex_CCC peeps wondering what happened to your club, Simon Dudley is Chair of your ethics cttee. "Reform’s new housing chief sparked anger saying “everyone dies in the end” and “fires happen” suggesting post #Grenfell safety regs have gone too far." @GrenfellUnited 💚

@BaitVic This time next year when the playoffs are down to 8th place, we’ll be right in the thick of it!

Well played to Duxbury and Co for successfully gaslighting a large section of the fanbase into thinking this was a promotion challenging squad and then getting people to blame all the different coaches. Have to grudgingly admire it! #watfordfc

@louorns The sub on the corner was inexplicable though. And the lack of attacking changes when it was obvious we were running out of steam would normally earn a coach some pelters

Not mad at the performance at all. Game management was poor and looked knackered but thought we were the better team overall

@louorns I think it was quite a classy statement; he's still a good and honourable man, even if his tactics had become outdated

In summary: he was too old, too rich, too homesick, too tired, too mean to certain players, too demanding in the transfer window. Interesting read and it's *an* inside story but leans heavily on one side's briefing and desire to control the narrative #watfordfc

@GeorgeDobell1 @TheCricketerMag I remember MCC (and Middlesex) playing at Shenley, maybe that's no longer viable. Changing subject, your close of play q&a's with Mel Farrell were the absolute highlight of the Ashes series, so thank you for that too!

@louorns I’ve been baffled by the non use of little Mendy especially but from behind the dugouts, you do notice his personal touch, I think it counts for a lot. From memory, the players never downed tools in his first spell, he was undermined by things outside his control

K9 with 7 in 20 this season, 8 if you include his bullet header vs Boro. Good going for a kid in his first season at a high level of football. You’d think he’s only going to get better with the more he plays as the season goes on

@Adam_Drury1 Louza is going to be this years Chakvetadze, a burnt out shell by January due to the amount of ground he’s having to cover in a two man midfield

One thing I’ll say about this team, we’re incredibly fit. This squads ability to play at a good tempo in what is a very stretched and demanding system is impressive. Louza/Bola/Ngakia were relentless.

I’m also begging to stop the 4-4-2. The starting positions are too deep for the players we have — it’s partly why the decision making is erratic in the final third because the players have too much ground to cover up and are knackered by the time something needs to happen
luke@louorns

I mean it’s not a bad performance by any means but in crucial moments we shit the bed. Can we finally stop spinning the narrative Ngakia is having a good season now?

@louorns Might the set up be dictated somewhat by our strikers? None seem to currently suit the lone centre forward role

Maamma the biggest positive tonight. He’s properly found his feet now and looks every bit of the talent the club thought he would be. Giorgi back too also great to see. Can we bin off the 442 now. Doesn’t work without KB

@Adam_Drury1 We can only hope it was significant that when he needed to get a centre back on, he hooked Sissoko. And then Kayembe at half time
