Following Monday’s visit by the Reform party and its leader, Nigel Farage, the club would like to issue the following statement: Ipswich Town Football Club has, over several years, hosted representatives from a range of political parties. The club remains apolitical and does not support or endorse any individual or party. The club will continue to engage with representatives from across the political spectrum as part of its role within the community. Ipswich Town is proud to be an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming organisation that supports all members of the local and wider community. This commitment remains unchanged.

The Gabba pictured during the first day of the 1st Ashes Test, December 1st 1950. The second day was washed out resulting in a sticky wicket on the third. England made 60 for 7 before declaring, Australia in their second innings made 32 for 7 before declaring to set England 193. They closed on 30 for 6 and lost by 70 runs on day four

The News Agents' @maitlis reads out a message she says was sent by Mandelson to a journalist colleague at 4am on Tuesday - just hours after he was released from police custody. She reads: "Despite previous agreement between police and legal team over voluntary interview in early March, police arrested me because they claimed... that I was about to flee to the British Virgin Islands and take up permanent residence abroad, leaving Reinaldo, my family, home and Jock behind me. I need hardly say complete fiction. The police were told only today that they had to improvise an arrest. The question is, who or what is behind this?"

BREAKING: Peter Mandelson says he was arrested by Met yesterday following "baseless" allegation he was about to flee the country - and despite agreement with police he would attend interview voluntarily. A statement from his lawyers Mishcon de Reya said: “Peter Mandelson was arrested yesterday despite an agreement with the police that he would attend an interview next month on a voluntary basis. “The arrest was prompted by a baseless suggestion that he was planning to leave the country and take up permanent residence abroad. There is absolutely no truth whatsoever in any such suggestion. “We have asked the MPS for the evidence relied upon to justify the arrest. Peter Mandelson’s overriding priority is to cooperate with the police investigation, as he has done throughout this process, and to clear his name.”

Watching Zimbabwe v West Indies in the T20 and wondering how anyone can manage to sit through a game at the ground with the endless music and screaming lady on the PA. Three or four hours of that would finish me

@GPB56 @PictureSporting I also worked for Barclays around that time but was lucky enough that our Office Manager was a cricket nut and used to come in to the machine room to ask me for regular updates!

@PictureSporting I still remember the Office Admin at Barclays Bank Dudley coming to ask our Dept if we could explain the surge in outgoing phone calls during a series of 5-day periods circa 1978-9...

Helen Plastow and Yvonne Biddulph pictured in 1966. They provided the Post Office's Dial-A-Score service, the best way to keep up with Test matches in the days before Ceefax let alone the internet. The first such offering came on June 21st 1956 for the Lord's Test. Although those of us of a certain age were used to "Dial the score on 154" the original was accessed by dialing UMP in London or 16 elsewhere

Leigh Doughty. Corrupt cheating bastard. Hope the club submit formal complaint to the EFL. Charlton were horrendous but he’s either too incompetent for the Championship or he’s part of a gambling syndicate. 6 yellow cards in 38 minutes?! #CAFC

@ChiswickW4etc @CAFCofficial I’ve been unsure about him all season but prepared to give the benefit of a doubt. Tonight, however convinced me he’s simply not up to it.

@CAFCofficial Will Mannion should be our keeper at Southampton on Saturday. The vast majority of our fanbase thinks that Kamikaze is average at best, and has been all season. Tonight he was dire.

3-0 down. Time to get the early train. Absolutely crap. Got no idea what we’ve been doing to prepare for this game over the last week. Got absolutely embarrassed by a side that is completely injury ridden. Us being Portsmouth bogey team is clearly well and truly over. #CAFC

@airmanbrown Agree. Work/family priorities, difficulties of travel during the end of the rush hour plus three evening games in 11 days. The feel there was certainly like a League 1 game (crowd not noise)

Don’t think there are any easy answers to this. Actual crowd was much lower than 14,836 due to absent STs. Affordability is a factor for sales with 3 home games in 12 days, but I’ve never been persuaded you can price people in to night matches - you can certainly price them out.

1,112 Stoke fans - if the club’s recent claim of 12,500 season tickets is correct, that would suggest the #cafc home ticket sale for this game was circa 1,000 (allowing for unavoidable comps). That is really dire, even allowing for the run of games and circs. Sky doesn’t help.

Lowest League attendance of the season at the Valley last night 14,836 for the visit of Stoke City The game moved from a Saturday due to the visitors game in the FA Cup this weekend A loss of revenue for #cafc there

@lewis_tn4 Three evening games in a fortnight doesn't help. Stoke not an appealing opposition. Even allowing for that it was poor. What's the issue with trains next week ... if they don't work the council's parking restrictions means it's almost impossible to attend unless local

Let’s not beat around the bush the attendance was really poor last night. Will be worse next week with no trains. The club need to try something new to get fans down for midweeks games. #cafc
