Contingent being. Roman Catholic by grace. Seeing God, face to Face, is the easiest thing to do in all the world. Why? One does nothing but surrender.

@BillArnoldTeach Whatever you can imagine about heaven, and how the soul becomes happy there, no one can begin to imagine. Someone who has never seen the ocean asked what it is like. The other could only say, "Oh, the vastness! The waves! The roar!"

Since you have an interest in Catholicism you should consider attending an OCIA class. In it you will learn that Christ established a teaching Church, and it is only the Extraordinary Magisterium which has authority from God to define the contours of the faith and the moral life. Either one follows the Extraordinary Magisterium or else one doesn't.

Not sure if you’ve ever seen @BishopBarron’s interview with @benshapiro, where +Barron spews some nonsense about how Jews can be saved under the Old Law (without baptism) and that Jesus is the “privileged path,” but not the only path, to heaven. @CarriePrejean1 @timotheeology
Bishop Robert Barron@BishopBarron

Over the past several weeks, Carrie Prejean Boller has complained that she was removed from the Presidential Commission on Religious Liberty because of her Catholic beliefs, and she has called out myself and other Catholic members of the commission for not defending her. This is absurd. Mrs. Prejean Boller was not dismissed for her religious convictions but rather for her behavior at a gathering of the Commission last month: browbeating witnesses, aggressively asserting her point of view, hijacking the meeting for her own political purposes. The Catholic position on matters of “Zionism,” to which I fully subscribe, is as follows: all forms of antisemitism are to be unequivocally condemned; the state of Israel has a right to exist; but the modern nation of Israel does not represent the fulfillment of Biblical prophecies and hence does not stand beyond criticism. If Mrs. Prejean Boller were dismissed for holding these beliefs, it is difficult to understand why I am still a member of the Commission. To paint herself as a victim of anti-Catholic prejudice or to claim that her religious liberty has been denied is simply preposterous.

@UcheMaryOkoli I understand that the water being added to the sacramental wine was an Apostolic tradition whose theological reason has been lost in time. What we have left are conjectures and speculations.

The meaning behind why the priest adds a little water to the wine in the chalice right before the Consecration is truly mind-blowing 🤯. The prayer that accompanies it makes it even more beautiful. 📹 FrManuel

@Edgarson_777 @kalezelden As i pointed out, you have the option of learning the truth about the Amazonian event, or you can stay blissfully ignorant by the narratives you are eating up from grifters and ideologues.

Did I write that it would be easier? Do you think I'm still a Protestant? Do you think 'ideologues and grifters' are on only one side of this? Are you not bothered AT ALL by the pachamama idolatry at Saint Peter's or with Father Prevost participating? Do you not think that both events should be explored? Does not Pope Leo owe us an explanation? If this suits you, go ahead:

@alde_jr Every practicing Catholic is a traditional Catholic, as we adhere to the Sacred Tradition. Some Catholics follow the ideology of tradional-ISM, which is different from being a traditional Catholic.

Yes, it is always easier supposedly to fix the Church and the entire world than it is to fix oneself. Protestants are also big on protesting what they don't understand. If you are interested in learning the truth about the so-called pachamama event rather than being manipulated and misled by ideologues and grifters then that is an option open to you.

That is just what the people trying to 'protestantize' the Catholic Church want, conservatives focusing on our personal character while they remake the Catholic Church from the ground up. Just look the other way while they put idols to a nature god on a sacred altar. Absolutely not! It's not a 'suspicion' that worshipping an idol is heresy. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." It's not hard to find that, it's in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS! We are also called to 'judge the spirits', and in Catholic theology it goes far beyond that. And if you haven't noticed the teachings of the Magesterium are being rewritten before our eyes. There is only one way this gets stopped, if it can, and it is NOT by focussing on one's own character, it is exactly by calling this out and protesting it. And that I will continue to do.

Best to focus on building character, virtue and charity within one's own soul than on acquiring more ideological-possession and angst. Best to have the hermeneutic of faith than the hermeneutic of suspicion. Protestants also think they can pontificate on what is heresy. Either one follows the teachings of the Extraordinary Magisterium and honors the Catholic requirement of the religious submission of mind and will to at least try to understand them, or one doesn't.

Rage bait? And it was just rage bait when Francis allowed a pacamama ceremony at the Vatican, where people bowed in worship to an idol of an ancient nature god, and put an idol ON THE ALTAR at Saint Peters? It's just rage bait when then Father Prevost himself bowed to a pachamama, then immediately conducted Holy Mass? Oh, I've done my share of stupid things, but like a man (even when I was a boy) I owned up to them, apologized to the offended, repented and made things right. It's not 'rage bait'. Nor are our complaints about the increasing restrictions of the Latin Mass, nor modern inventions like blessing the marriages/relationships of those in 'irregular relationships' and the reports we're reading from reports of the Synod on Synodality that threaten to dramatically change ancient Catholic Doctrine. We're supposed to just do a Rosary and think happy thoughts? No. If you think the losses the Catholic Church suffered after Vatican II were bad "you ain't seen nothing yet!" We're not talking about 'rage bait'. We're talking about heresy.

@StyliteLight It would be heresy to state the argument is what does the converting and not the grace of God working through something. But when we evangelize and discuss theology we don't presume it is merely the strength of our arguments doing the converting

Read "Lumen Gentium, the Dogmatic Constitution of the Church" for a refined Magisterial teaching of the doctrine, beyond the bumper sticker slogan. That anyone is saved (or "healed") is only through the infinite merits of Jesus Christ and His Church, not because one is a card-carrying Catholic.

Let's be clear. Anti-Semitism, which is a hatred rooted in ethnic or religious reasons, is evil. However, disagreement with the political and military actions of the modern state of Israel is not that.
U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops@USCCB

Catholics are called to reject antisemitism and the lies and conspiracies that fuel it, and to stand clearly against hatred and violence directed toward our Jewish brothers and sisters. To defend religious freedom with integrity, we must also reject antisemitism. @ArchbishpSample @archdpdx Watch the full video at: ow.ly/sYF550Yw6cA

When I was conceived, I wasn’t wanted by my mother. I was a ‘late in life’ baby that was going to ruin her new marriage and plans to live like Laura Petrie from the Dick Van Dyck show (had a kid, you hardly ever saw him). When she dated my dad, she told him many lies I found out later. One of which was that she’d “be honored to have his child”. God is always watching & listening folks. So within just a few weeks of the honeymoon, she gets the bad news. My dad is elated. My mom wants an abortion. (This isn’t hearsay btw, my mom told me this herself when I was in my teens). It was 1962. My dad said absolutely not. Here I am. She didn’t want her first two kids either, so I don’t feel isolated. She actually chickened out on aborting one of my brothers when she was on the table - but I digress. The one goal everyone in our house had was NOT to upset her. Be quiet. Do what you’re told. If she’s sleeping, don’t wake her up. We walked on eggshells the entire 18 years - then left. It obviously didn’t always work. Kids will be kids. We drop things. We make mistakes. We bring home a bad grade. We spill stuff. We are kids. I honestly don’t remember how old I was. Somewhere between 5 and 7 maybe? I’d done something wrong again. Probably didn’t clean my room. I remember standing in the kitchen, my back was against the refrigerator. My mom was absolutely disgusted with me. Like I was vermin. She made the statement “You know you’re absolutely good for nothing, don’t you?!!” My little 5-7 year old self looked at her and reflected, “Yeah, mommy, I know”. That was the day I broke as a human. I stopped seeing myself as someone of worth. My love for my mom, that unconditional thing that you’re born with, it finally shattered. There was no coming back. People have asked me: “Where was your father?” “Why didn’t he do anything?” Well, Daddy was at work. Daddy was also well aware of the vitriol that came out of my mom’s mouth, but I don’t think he knew how bad it was when it was aimed at me. I never told him because I BELIEVED HER COMPLETELY. So why would I tell? My dad never left her because he didn’t feel that he’d win custody of me. My brothers were hers from her previous marriage. None of us ever had abuse that sent us to the hospital. She was an RN before, she wasn’t dumb. And destroying your child’s world verbally leaves no scars at all. My dad DID try to make my childhood as best as he could. He and I were thick as thieves, which only made my mom more angry. She’d tell me over and over our lives would be so much better if he would just die. After I left home at 18, she did try to kill him. She failed. Ironically he outlived her by 8 years. He probably would have lived longer but the stuff she tried to poison him with damaged his heart. I have completely, 100% forgiven my mother. I do believe she most likely had 2 things working against her: I believe that her mother abused her, and that cycle you have to WANT to break (I did). The other is that I believe that she had some sort of mental illness. She was definitely a textbook narcissist, as she was never wrong, nor would she ever admit anything was her fault & apologize. She also never told me she loved me. The only thing I know for absolute certainty she loved was her little dog, Penny. That little 2lb yorkie was everything to her. Thanks for reading.🙏🏻
