It's part of a mentality that seems to be prevalent in many non-Western societies (especially in the Middle East), whereby any semblance of self-criticism is viewed as a sign of weakness that deserves immediate exploitation and derision. Unfortunately, this very same attitude is why it becomes virtually impossible to fix anything. When you constantly delude yourself that you are winning and everything is fine, or you blame everything on the evil Americans and Jews you end up building nothing. Another example is the difficulty in tackling the worst parts of the Quran, the Hadith, etc. There is such a dearth of open and honest discussion at a societal level in most Islamic countries, as well as doctrinal reasons (Quran is the word of God), that do not allow for any criticism of the contents of the tradition, nor a critical examination. The only recourse is creating police states of varying rigidity. @DanBurmawy Would you agree with this general assessment?

In all the wars Israel has fought since its independence in 1948, its enemies broadcast that they were beating the Jewish state. Every time the war ended, it turned out that Israel had given its enemies a beating. Wait and see what will come out after this Iran war stops.

@soul_of_germany @crocoduck_king There is a problem with the Muslim community but you don't need to say all Muslims are this or that. That is a very low-IQ thing to do. If you don't want this to be turned on you one day, don't do it.

A lot of Muslims nowadays and throughout history seem to have been unaware. Of course Prophet Muhammad's own history seem to contradict the aforementioned Surah. Either way, to say that something is forbidden by the Quran therefore it can't happen is as disingenuous as saying that murders don't take place because there are laws against them. Well, people do indeed commit murders and m, similarly many Muslims throughout history and still nowadays think apostates should be murdered and the infidels converted. To deny this is to live in la la land.

@hahussain That's forbidden It's literally in the Quran if you cared to read it. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:256: "There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion." Surah Al-Ghashiyah 88:21–22: "So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. You are not over them a controller.

Every non-Muslim and non-Arab community in the Middle East must have its own state, or it will vanish. This is Bethlehem, the city where Jesus was born. Its population was once 100 percent Christian and remained around 90 percent until 1950. Since the Palestinian Authority took control in 1993, the Christian share has fallen to just 16 percent and continues to decline. Christians cite these reasons for leaving Jesus’ birthplace: violence and coercion to convert to Islam, religious and legal discrimination, desecration of holy sites, and social exclusion. A Palestinian state, if established, would mark the end for Christians, Jews, Druze, and all other non-Muslim and non-Arab communities.

@RangeWolf2229 @VividProwess Meaning, killing civilians is ok if your side does it. The perhaps you have no moral standing to be pontificating against the actions of the IDF. If anything goes, what's the problem?

@LeftJab4 @nxd1979 By no means is it a uniquely Balkan phenomenon. Based on data I saw years ago the Balkans and the Middle East have the highest rates of conspiratorial thinking, but I imagine the rest of the World is now not lagging far behind sadly.

So the fact that all large gatherings, including those at Jewish religious sites, have been prevented due to the Iranians strikes is not relevant to mention in your view. You just present this fact s discriminatory when everyone has to abide by the same rule. You just hate Israelis.

At this point, even if you are completely opposed to everything Israel is trying to achieve, you must worry about the almost complete normalization of anti-Jewish hatred and threat of violence seen everywhere around the world. We are sleepwalking into another pogrom if we continue down this path. It is especially worrying how the left has brought itself to a position where its reproducing both Nazi and Islamic tropes about Jews without the tiniest hint of irony. This is all dangerous and it's likely to get worse due to generational differences.

It's jarring to drive past a synagogue with visible Gardaí patrols and private security. A sad reflection that our tiny Jewish community, with deep Irish roots, now requires this level of vigilance just to gather for prayer.

An algorithm simply means a step-by-step procedure for solving a problem. Ancient Babylonians used systematic procedures for solving equations. Greek mathematicians like Euclid described the Euclidean algorithm for finding the greatest common divisor. Indian mathematicians developed rule-based arithmetic methods centuries before al-Khwarizmi. So the concept of algorithms predates him by over a millennium. He didn’t invent algorithms, he popularized structured computational methods and gave his name to the term.

@TheDataDecoded @mishtal Thanks! I checked it out. You're right, he didn't say those exact words. It seems like these words are an implication of what he said about Palestine and Palestinians. Lots of sick people on here celebrating tonight, because Iranian missiles managed to kill a couple of Israeli pensioners in their seventies, and damage a Tel Aviv railway station and a commuter train. Then in their next post, they will pretend they care about international law.

Like literally every single incoming Iranian missile is loaded with cluster bombs. The world doesn’t just ignore it—in many cases, it celebrates this war crime against Israelis. But no worries—this isn’t me whining about bringing the Iranian mullahs to the ICC or playing the victim card . It’s a warning: come for us, and we will make sure your great-great-grandchildren shudder at the thought of attacking ours.

Why do people think a tiny Middle Eastern country with a GDP of $130 billion in 2001 could make the U.S. do anything? Apart from the fact that Israel did not want Americans to invade Iraq, isn't it much more likely that the U.S., as the most powerful country in the history of the World, can do what it wants? If its geostrategic interests align with Israel's, sure, Israel will provide the political and military support and vice versa. But a confluence of interests in no way means Israel has some shady level of influence on the U.S. What we are seeing more recently is again a confluence of interests between the two countries in an environment where Israel is more determined than ever to resolve several of its geostrategic problems and the U.S. sees this as an opportunity to work with a strong ally to do the same. This is independent of the wisdom in any of these decisions. All I'm saying is it's weird to say Israel controls anything. It's just that they are a very competent actor in a part of the World critical to U.S. and others' interests.

The canard that the US went to war in Iraq because of Israel is the giveaway here. Anyone who knows anything about that time knows that is not the case. In fact Israeli security officials were skeptical about the Iraq war in part because they thought Iran was the bigger danger
Joe Kent@joekent16jan19

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

@LeinadFre @chico_ray I think your last sentence says it all really. You are not making a moral argument against what Israel did in response to being attacked. You are just sad the side you support isn't strong enough to do kill indiscriminately to stick it to the evil Israelis.

1 - Hamas builds infrastructure under homes, schools and hospitals. 2 - Hamas booby traps homes—making going door to door costly in lives and time. Instead of getting blown up, it was easier to blow up the infrastructure. 3 - Israel lets civilians know before a strike takes place. 4 - Hamas took hostages and hid them amongst the population. This is how you get such a massive level of destruction. And yet, there was no “genocide”. Maybe don’t attack a militarily superior fighting force—rape and butcher civilians—take hostages, and fire endless barrages of rockets.
