Dear Friends, I always turn to you for prayers. I could use some prayers from your lips to God's ear, that I can find a good weekend chef at our John Paul II Manor. Our present staff person had to take a medical departure. Yours truly must cook until we find someone, and my rheumatoid arthritis and already demanding jobs as administrator of the home, provincial, and prison chaplain make another responsibility a really terrible predicament. Thanks, my dear ones. I know the Lord will find a way.

I have decided to undertake a monumental task of examining the SSPX situation, the undeniable Church crisis, the nature of the papacy in light of some of its scandals and the nature of the Church itself. My examination will be based on what the Church herself teaches. I am neither a theologian nor a priest. Objectively speaking, without any false humility, I am not a saint. I am also not a preacher nor was I commanded by any Church authorities to do so. Yet I feel called to do this. I have rarely felt called to do any specific action in my life other than growing in holiness in general. For some reason, I believe I need to do this. I also believe this needs to be done in a careful, prayerful, slow way. I want to answer the following questions (both for myself and for anyone else interested): 1. What does the Church teach us about the nature of the Church? 2. What does the Church teach us about the nature, powers and limitations of papacy? 3. Which Church teachings apply to the SSPX situation and how? 4. How can we interpret the undeniable Church crisis that started in the middle of the 20th century in light of Church teaching? 5. What can we (ordinary faithful) do in this situation? What must we not do? This is what I set out to examine some 10 days ago and it's a lot of work. As I said, I will take my time with this. I plan to write a long thread on the topic with specific subtitles to make for an easier reading. I have also decided not to use any AI in researching or writing this, simply because I do not trust any of the LLMs and I abhor their writing style. Not using AI doesn't immediately make my posts trustworthy but there are more and more posts I see that are clearly not written by humans and in my own way, I wish to fight against this tendency (well, by writing long chunks of texts that in no way rely on any of the LLMs). God willing, in a few weeks I will have a long thread ready. I wish nothing for it then to be truthful. If I succeed in that effort, it will be by God's grace. I shall attempt to do it in a way that absolutely aligns with Church teaching and is objective. If anything in it ends up being subjective, biased or simply wrong, it will not surprise me because of my fallen human nature. However, I do have such an ardent desire for this effort to be in line with God's holy Will, that I simply must believe that the good Lord will prevent me from making some huge mistake. It will be long. Some may find it boring. It will probably have many words and be completely unsuitable for Twitter or its algorithm. But it doesn't matter. For some reason, I very much desire to do it so I will. For those who asked if I was ok, all is relatively well in my life, thank God. I have just made myself very busy with this particular topic in addition to everyday obligations. My time on here is very sporadic right now. I have decreased my online presence and it feels right. God bless and hope you are all ok.

Self-attesting evangelical Christians be warned. Anyone attempting to rebuild the Jewish temple is an enemy of God, whether they realize it or not. The third temple is Jesus Christ and His body, the Catholic Church. The end. This episode of Eternal Christendom is pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥

... a link to Bar-B-Que "char" to increased cancer risk but you know what? I'm REALLY not going to obsess about such CORRELATATIVE (NOT "causative") studies, at least not until a CAUSATION can be demonstrated. :) Seriously does anyone know about any causal link between BBQ "char" and cancer? No? NO CAUSATIVE link? I'm hearing crickets here but maybe because I'm rambling on in my own post which has been known to happen

It's been a while since Mike looked at the QDrops so let's see what Q had to say. Turns out he thinks arresting Hillary will help Trump pass some bills through the Senate. Also Patriots are in Control (8+ years ago). shows.acast.com/hellwqrld/epis…

The proposed (as of this post) Community Note says it all I think. "The circled area is not the data center, it is the power substation. The system also supplies Dubai and wider area with an aim to provide 75% of all its power so is not just supplying the data center. x.com/philroberts/st… "

I gave a flippant response to this, but people have asked for a SERIOUS response. My serious response is that it doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe somebody can explain. If you care about land area, you'd ADD the area of solarfarms+datacenters, not divide them. A ratio of 500:1 or something just doesn't make any sense. I googled the details -- there aren't any. What does a "solar powered data center" even mean? do you turn it off at night, or what do you power it with? That's probably not the data center in the image, but the power station. That's not the solar farm in question, just Phase V of a much larger solar farm. As I said, Google is no help finding where the actual data center is located. In short, you can't have a serious analysis of such an unserious post. People find the picture compelling without engaging the brain, such as questioning whether a "ratio" makes any sense.
Object Zero@Object_Zero_

This 100MW data center in UAE is the largest solar powered datacenter in the world. There are currently 1,300 data centers in the world that are bigger than this one, but this one is the largest solar powered one. That’s 10 square kilometres of solar panels you can see. The datacenter itself is 0.02 square kilometres, so a solar powered datacenter is ~500x larger than a data center using any other form of power. A five hundred times larger site. UAE has some of the highest solar irradiance anywhere on Earth, it is an inhospitable desert. Averaging 9.7 hours of sunlight per day with average irradiance above 2,200 kWh/m^2. If you build this somewhere else, you need more solar panels because your irradiance will almost certainly be lower. Even if the world had an infinite supply of free solar panels, solar power will not be free. Anyone who has ever done major capital projects, who looks at where data centers need to be in the next 5 years and the next 10 years… we know it aint solar. Sorry. You struggle to even build a train track that’s 100 miles long and 10ft wide anywhere in the West, there is zero chance of build 100 square mile solar farms for GW compute. This is why people are talking about space compute. Deploying into space is one strategy to solve the constraints. But there are faster and more scalable strategies, that get you to mass deployment of multi GW data centers. There are strategies that also allow you to power the 10 billion robots and their newtonian actuators, that immediately follow the inference demand cycle. Step back and look at the full cycle of this industrial revolution… There will be billions of chips, but there will be trillions of actuators. This biggest part of this revolution is the embodiment cycle, and it’s big by a factor of 20 or 50x over the stuff that comes before it. There is no analogy in human history for the scale of this economy, of the demand it will place on energy and commodities. The humans own the Earth, and if you exist inside their legal system, they won’t let you turn the surface of their planet into glass. But they do want your chips and your actuators to serve their needs and desires. There is a way to do all of this, and so it will happen.

@farmingandJesus Haha fascinating. Is the term "most blessed of women" in Judges 5:24 the same as "blessed among women" in Luke 1:42? Isn't this the central question? I don't think even James White would make such an assertion. haha Even assuming the septuagint version of Judges 5:24...

Mary is blessed. Who said otherwise ? She’s our faithful sister in Christ. And I’ll say it right now in my generation, what a blessed woman to carry the Lord in her womb! Amazing! God bless Mary! Now to Jael , she was called blessed among women too…. She put a tent spike through a dudes head. No one calls her sinless because she was called blessed among women though :) no one prays to her and says she dispenses grace lol

@farmingandJesus Look, if you want to be sola scriptura, at least be consistent. Scripture calls her blessed (Lk 1:48), says all generations will call her that. The Church just takes the Bible seriously enough to believe it.

Dear Mr. Arroyo: I enjoyed meeting you so many years ago (2007) at your book signing. It was also one of the highlights of my now late mother's life. May you continue to be blessed by the Lord, this is my genuine hope. Please pray for me and her. Sincerely, Tim (I hate my double chin here)

The Pope should refrain from these weekly press scrums. It allows the media to set the tone and lead the witness. Most of Leo’s predecessors made the news- they didn’t react to it. In this scenario the Pope is cast as just another talking head- it diminishes his office. The media is wagging the dog and the Pope is playing along- being dragged into non-controversy controversies.

Pope Leo XIV responding to the criticism he has received from Donald Trump: “The mission of the Church is to proclaim the Gospel, to preach peace. If someone wants to criticize me for proclaiming the Gospel, let him do so truthfully."

Given the previous post I QT'ed is true (which it is IMO or else I wouldn't have QT'd it haha), even BEYOND that... It's good to know I dress like rich people, I guess. I like my wrinkled kakis and polos. I just wish I could find a polo that really WOULD have a collar that straight even after regular washing I really do...IDC if that makes me 'gay' in some people's minds. I really don't. I'm sorry, I don't know how to iron, and I can't ask my wife to do it all the time.
derek guy@dieworkwear

For the most part, the left side is how rich people dress. The right shows an outfit on a celebrity who was dressed by Robert Wun, who used this opportunity to show the level of craft and creativity they can execute when not limited to making the boring ass clothes most people buy for going going to the office, buying groceries, and other mundane activities.
