"Police/Fire/Military" False Equivalence Oh, I love this argument. I LOVE it. Because it actually proves the OPPOSITE of what you intended. Let me name what just happened: that is a textbook false equivalence — argumentum ad falsum comparationem. Police officers, firefighters, and soldiers are GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES who VOLUNTARILY chose those careers, with the pay structure disclosed upfront, before they ever put the uniform on. Nobody drafted a private surgeon out of their existing practice and handed them a government salary. Medicare for All does not "hire" physicians the way cities hire firefighters. It forces private practitioners — people who built their own practices, took on their own patients, and operated under entirely different terms — to either accept whatever price Washington sets or close their doors entirely. THAT is the compulsion. The distinction is not subtle. But here is where your own analogy really collapses: police and fire are CONSTITUTIONALLY LOCAL FUNCTIONS. Tenth Amendment. Your examples are funded and controlled at the city and county level — not by Congress, not by a federal agency, not by a Washington price-setting board. So if your logic holds — and I am being exceedingly generous by entertaining it — then healthcare decisions belong to STATES AND MUNICIPALITIES. You just inadvertently argued for the exact opposite of Medicare for All. That is impressive, in a "donated his brain to science before he was finished with it" kind of way. And "suddenly they're libertarians" — that is argumentum ad hominem. A label is not a counter-argument. It is what you reach for when the substance ran out three paragraphs ago. Now here is the part that should genuinely embarrass a congressional campaign account: we ALREADY HAVE government-run single-payer healthcare for one group. It is called the VA. I know this firsthand — I am a medically retired Army combat medic. The VA is a documented national disaster of wait lists, mismanagement, and chronic bureaucratic neglect for the very people who deserve better care than anyone else on earth. THAT is your proof of concept. And you want to scale it to 330 million Americans. One more thing, since we are doing math: the entire U.S. military plus all police plus all fire departments combined costs roughly $1 trillion per year. Medicare for All is estimated at $3.2 to $4.4 TRILLION — PER YEAR. Your own analogy is three to four times too small to make your point. While we are at it — the government cannot find $9.75 billion over ten years to stop the wounded veteran tax on 54,000 combat-injured retirees through the Major Richard Star Act (H.R. 2102). Cannot find it. But somehow $4.4 TRILLION a year for a system that already failed at the VA is just... fine. If that math does not bother you, I cannot help you. Quinn's Law #1: Liberalism always generates the EXACT OPPOSITE of its stated intent. But what do I know — I am only a medically retired Army combat medic who has personally sat in a VA waiting room, which is what government-run single-payer healthcare actually looks like from the inside. @JoJoFromJerz @GuntherEagleman @catturd2 #MAGA #Veterans #Trump

Funny how nobody says police officers, firefighters, or soldiers are being forced into “free labor” because we fund those services publicly. But the second you suggest everyone should be able to see a doctor, suddenly they’re libertarians.
mike bski@BskiMike22802

Oh, WONDERFUL. A congressional CANDIDATE has discovered that "Medicare for All" fits perfectly on a campaign flyer — and absolutely nowhere else. Let me walk through this slowly. For the folks who apparently let their economics class expire like an unused gym membership. Healthcare is a SERVICE. Not a right. A TRUE right costs other people NOTHING. Your right to free speech only requires that everyone leave you alone. Zero dollars. Zero labor extracted from a single person. But healthcare? Healthcare requires doctors, nurses, researchers, lab technicians, pharmacists — human beings who spent DECADES training to provide it. Calling it a "human right" does not conjure any of those people out of thin air, nor does it convince them to work without compensation. Words are not magical incantations, no matter how many yard signs you print them on. Here is the part that short-circuits this argument entirely: the only way to GUARANTEE provision of a service is to FORCE someone to provide it. That is not a right. That is a claim on another person's labor. There is an older word for that arrangement, and it is not flattering. Now — stay with me here, because this next part is DELICIOUS — the left spent the last few years CHEERING for Luigi Mangione, the young man who allegedly murdered a health insurance CEO because he was SO outraged at insurance companies profiteering off sick Americans. T-shirts sold out. Trending on social media. Practically a national holiday for some people. And now you want to hand those SAME companies a LEGALLY MANDATED captive customer base of 330 MILLION Americans, funded entirely by tax dollars, with no ability to opt out? You jobbernowl — that is not "taking on" big insurance. That is handing them the biggest monopoly contract in human history and billing ME for the delivery. Here is an idea: why are you pushing Medicare for All instead of MASSIVELY EXPANDING Health Savings Accounts? HSAs put every medical decision in the PATIENT'S hands — not a bureaucrat's, not a congressman's. Oh. Right. That gives power to individuals instead of the government. Carry on. Quick math, since we apparently need it: Medicare for All has been estimated between $32 TRILLION and $43.9 TRILLION over ten years. For reference — the ACA, the LAST time we were told government was going to fix healthcare — drove insurance costs 38% ABOVE their pre-ACA trend line. Thirty-eight percent. UP. After we were promised it would come DOWN. If someone did that to your bank account, you would call the police. So the government-expanded healthcare experiment ran. Costs went up. Access did not improve proportionally. The solution is now... DRAMATICALLY MORE government healthcare? What did you do, donate your brain to science before you were finished with it? Quinn's Law #1: Liberalism ALWAYS generates the exact opposite of its stated intent. Quinn's Law #9: To a liberal, INTENTIONS matter far more than OUTCOMES. The intention sounds compassionate. The outcome is a $43.9 trillion waiting list, staffed by doctors who did not attend medical school for twelve years to be told by a federal algorithm what they will earn. On January 10, 1963, Rep. A.S. Herlong Jr. read Communist Goal #30 into the Congressional Record: discrediting free enterprise and promoting the view that government central planning is superior to a free market. I am not calling you a communist. I am asking you to look at the checklist and tell me where your platform diverges from it. But what do I know — I am only a science teacher who can do the math on a $43 trillion price tag without needing it printed on a bumper sticker first. IF you agree: LIKE this post so the algorithm shows it to people who need to read it. SHARE this. COMMENT below — if healthcare is truly a "human right," tell me exactly WHO is legally obligated to provide it, and what happens to that person when they refuse. Tell me. it is so important all the other candidates in this race consolidate to defeat this demon she only wants to run in this black district that she doesn't live in to avoid a competitive race in her actual district now that it leans republican. she has to be vanquished.

Eli Goldstein- No One Asked, But...
Until I read this piece, I was not aware that @iElijahManley was Jewish. As a Jewish Democrat myself, I am quite happy we will get another person to fight for our voice in Congress. These antisemitic comment from @HolnessD9 are totally disqualifying. While Elijah and I surely disagree on foreign policy, I know he has the skills and character traits needed to represent FL 20, along with a top-notch . That is why I was proud to endorse Elijah on my Bestselling Jewish Gen Z Substack, No One Asked, But... I may not live in FL, but I know that Elijah will fight for Florida. It is time for @HolnessD9, @unclelukereal1, Sheila Cherfilus McCormick to all drop out/not file to ensure @DWStweets is ousted and doesn't further disenfranchise black voters in FL 20. The campaign of mass murder and death in Gaza is among some of the worst acts of violence we’ve ever seen. On day one in Congress, I will cosponsor the Block the Bombs Act. American taxpayer dollars should not be used to violate international law.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a hypocrite and disgrace. At a time when Black districts are being eliminated and those voters disenfranchised... she of course, as always, puts herself ahead of everything and everybody. @DWStweets has never represented Florida or her district... only herself. It’s time she gets a real job for the first time in her failed career. Was the only democrat I know of that fought the legalization of medical marijuana that now benefits over a million Floridians. I have always wondered who bought her. Debbie Downer needs to go.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is carpetbagging to FL-20, a black opportunity district instead of running in her own. DWS is everything that’s wrong with the Democratic establishment. From insider trading to payday lenders. I look forward to retiring her from public office permanently.

Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for Florida’s 20th congressional district. I’ll continue to use my seniority in Washington to make Broward a safer, less expensive place to live, raise a family, and retire. We cannot let Trump and DeSantis take away Broward County’s power.
