@noshiteplease @PeterClear328 @CCPCIreland Why do you think they offered a remedy if it doesn't mention it in the article? The only reference to remedy in article was the reference to company saying its out of warranty and they no longer sevice the area.

@conorfingleton @PeterClear328 @CCPCIreland Not disclosed in the Article We'd all love it if we actually had 6 yrs of Reasonability when it comes 2 products, but that's not what happens in reality. Companies seen 2 offer "Remedies" are seeing to their obligations, Customers crying to judges will achieve precisely nothing

@conorfingleton @PeterClear328 Again, who determines a "Reasonable Time" 🤔 The @CCPCIreland worse than useless. The warranty on this EV charger was 3 years. The judge pointed out He's making a claim 7 months after warranty expired. Plaintiff an idiot

@PeterClear328 I'm not aware of any product that must legally last a Reasonable time beyond it's warranty.

@Iskesullas They can hardly use a picture from here when the law only came in so none have been built yet 😉 Don't think it's a great idea personally anyway

So the image the Collison brother's 'think tank' is using to promote 'beds in sheds' is that of an AirB&B in the US. Charlatans indeed.

@Iskesullas You know that these are illegal to build until the legislation passes, right? And they have to use an example from elsewhere as they're currently illegal here?

Just to be clear, on a point of fact both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael committed to the carbon tax in their pre-election manifesto, they are NOT anti-democratic. At a time like this, it's more important than ever to not like schysters and liars spin falsehoods for their own ends.

@anspailpin @morningireland 90% of the parties in the dail back the carbon tax. Not a real choice. The "opposition" advocate for harsher carbon taxes.

@CrytonFred @mytimetospeakup @Mickcliff Its in response to your question "Who pays for public services then if not the higher rate taxpayer". Corporation tax pays for large portion of the services.

@CrytonFred @mytimetospeakup @Mickcliff Last year government had total revenue of €105billion and income tax was €37 billion and corporation tax was €33. So over 31% of income was not paid by taxpayers.

@CrytonFred @Mickcliff The vast majority of the increase in price of the house over the 35 years was due to State policy.

@conorfingleton @Mickcliff It means my parents worked hard over 35 years to build wealth and they were already taxed on their income. The State didn't do anything, why should the state get anything?

@CrytonFred @Mickcliff If its 50k in tax , it means you got a house worth over €550,000 and didn't do anything.

@Mickcliff It's not a "windfall" it's what your parents worked 35 years to buy. And it's not a small amount of tax, it could be 50k owed in many parts of dublin.

Inside of our house is sat at 19 degrees. Outside it is 5 degress Our heat pump is ticking over at 900W All the energy it requires is being supplied from our battery that was topped up from our solar earlier today. This will be common place for the next 8 months. Heat pumps work Solar works Battery storage works If you can, this is very worthwhile investment.

@Economicopoly @john_mcguirk I dont understand the commentt about "building in their own land". Nobody builds a house on someone else land. They always own the land before they build.

I would agree with Brenda, Laura point is obviousky perfectly logical & valid, except that when the law is applied do selectively and when the planning process is so arbitrary, inequitable, incompetent, crony ridden & often out right corrupt, my sympathies are with people building a home with their own money on their own land and not in favour of the crony State.

Yesterday Brenda Power had my mind made up firmly on the Meath House in favour of the Murrays. Laura's substack today has me going back in the other direction. "The fact that this couple said ‘what are you going to do – pull it down’ – to Meath County council after 20 years of very expensive litigation and the reply came back yes we will seems to have caught many on the right by surprise."

@EndTheEU @Michael54325847 So anybody should be able to buy a plot of land anywhere and build whatever they want? Or do you want some limits on it?

It's not. It's FFG policy. The housing crisis and it's insider FFG vulture firms would be dealt a severe blow if rural landowners were allowed to build an extra family home on their plot. The boomer ponzi would end overnight. It's a simple solution that will never be allowed to happen.
