INDEPENDENDENT IRELAND STATEMENT: Independent Ireland will fully support proposed motion of no confidence in Government This Government has failed to listen and failed to address the concerns of people across Ireland. This is not limited to hauliers, farmers, and contractors, but extends to hard-working people throughout the country who continue to struggle under the policies of this and previous governments. There is a growing sense that taxpayers’ money is not being used effectively, and a sense that the Government continues to be led by unelected bureaucrats in Europe rather than listening to the people who elect them. The discontent around the country is not solely about fuel prices. It reflects broader concerns — and the ongoing failure to address so many issues affecting communities in both rural and urban Ireland. Crucially, there has been a continued failure to listen to those communities. People feel ignored and disconnected from decision-making processes that directly impact their daily lives.. The handling of the protests has been tone-deaf, condescending, and, at times, inflammatory rather than conciliatory. Hopefully this week will have shown rural Ireland that FF/G are globalist parties. They are the parties of FDI and the EU. They are more comfortable in discussions with Brussels and Washington than Ennis and Cork. Just as Ireland has two economies - an American-funded, FDI economy that brings extraordinary corporate tax wealth that does not trickle down to ordinary Irish people, and a long abandoned domestic economy that FF/G squeeze the lifeblood out of, so too does Ireland now have two political systems. FF/G/SF are in Ireland physically but their purpose is in service of the FDI economy and EU, while emerging parties like @independent_ire & @AontuIE are parties both based in Ireland and with the purpose of servicing Irish people. This week shows - with great transparency - the two Irelands that exist economically and politically. This week regular Irish people with justified concerns stood up and finally complained that they face going home to bankruptcy and the government - who have squandered their FDI tax receipts - told them in no uncertain terms, that they do not work for them.
