For two years, the NASA/ESA/CSA James #Webb Space Telescope has provided us with breathtaking views of the universe and groundbreaking scientific results.
Today, Webb has us asking: what came first the penguin or the egg?
The telescope has captured a duo of interacting galaxies known as Arp 142, the Penguin (NGC 2936) and the Egg (NGC 2937) that are slowly merging into a single galaxy.

1/2 Galaxies become more chaotic as they age, according to new research from @ARC_ASTRO3D. The study, involving @UNSW researchers, found that the randomness of star motion within galaxies is mostly driven by the age of a galaxy, not its environment or mass as previously thought.
