Wow. Judge Benitez stood up for the Second Amendment rights of Californians at a time when so few judges, especially those within the Ninth Circuit, were willing to do so. So many Californians have our "Freedom Week" magazines because of him. That 2019 Duncan ruling is literally what inspired me to pursue this career in the first place. I hope he enjoys a well-earned retirement. We'll absolutely miss him. And in the event Duncan is granted cert and reversed by the Supreme Court, it's a shame he won't get to hammer California one more time on a fee motion!
