Scope — a charity that prides itself on its commitment to “inclusivity” — rescinded its invitation for the London Marathon to the Singing Striders choir over its founding members’ gender-critical beliefs. It has now reinstated the choir, but the group is, quite rightly, choosing to go its own way. Gender-critical beliefs are protected under the Equality Act 2010 and were reaffirmed by last year’s landmark Supreme Court ruling. Despite this, those penalised for their gender-critical beliefs remain the single largest category of cases at the Free Speech Union. Charities like Scope cannot cherry-pick which protected characteristics they wish to support.

@raychilled @scope I'm aware. There has been pushback. Organisations are closing rather than becoming complicit in this discrimination. The EHRC outcome is being reconsidered. Individuals are refusing to play along with this senseless campaign of hate.
