Scope — a charity that prides itself on its commitment to “inclusivity” — rescinded its invitation for the London Marathon to the Singing Striders choir over its founding members’ gender-critical beliefs. It has now reinstated the choir, but the group is, quite rightly, choosing to go its own way. Gender-critical beliefs are protected under the Equality Act 2010 and were reaffirmed by last year’s landmark Supreme Court ruling. Despite this, those penalised for their gender-critical beliefs remain the single largest category of cases at the Free Speech Union. Charities like Scope cannot cherry-pick which protected characteristics they wish to support.

Women coerced into changing in front of men, elite female athletes losing to men, women in rape crisis centres gaslit by male staff, women impregnated in prison, detransitioners facing life with broken bodies or missing genitals... 'Trans' activists: "Why do you care?"
