@Dr__Meenakshi What is that knot called? I would normally use an Aberdeen knot here

As a GP, I am used to the barrage of comments in social and mainstream media telling me my profession isn’t cheap enough. So I thought I’d calculate what does get funding. Your rebate could cover the whole cost of care if we invested in GPs. See how. medicalrepublic.com.au/whats-a-gp-wor…

The more chaotic the emergency department, the calmer I portray myself. Took me awhile to develop that skill. It helps everyone around you and yourself.

People need to see through the Government's spin and look at the reality of the situation. - Mental health and women's health is still drastically undervalued by #Medicare. - Rebates are still far too low in general. - Incentives don't apply to everyone and every care.

MyMedicare opens today. Here's the impact on the Medicare rebate. Medicare is like car insurance. You pay the mechanic, the insurance company gives you some money back. When we bulk bill, we accept the money Medicare gives you as full payment. Here's why I can't BB Mental health.

I, like many GPs, bill patients and pay a fee to the clinic to use my room. I get no sick leave, holiday leave, long service or superannuation. In what universe could I be considered an employee?! @timpallas @MaryAnneThomas @georgiecrozier @96mitchclarke

Patient presents to ED with clear history that suggests anaphylaxis with life threatening features. Would have received adrenaline if sought help, but delayed presentation hours later and largely recovered by time seen. Could this still be anaphylaxis even though they recovered?

@dr_shai Saved the day yesterday with guided IV access in our GP (primary care) clinic for an iron infusion. Not life or death but pt, other GP and nurse who had been struggling were impressed.used #vscanair

I made a similar point to a couple of local GPs today in a small house party. I subsequently enquired about supporting #POCUS education and accreditation to #PrimaryCare. My wife has accused me of running a Ponzi scheme….

@TobyRichardsUWA @Tristan27856485 I love image quality with my #vscan and ergonomics better than butterfly or clarius. However App for VSCAN doesn’t allow you to label images- you’d think a basic requirement! Frustrating for sharing/teaching. Nil gestation package for vscan

@Tristan27856485 I use a Vscan. Very easy and can wash between patients (as you wash your hands). Down side- battery only good for 30-45 min scan time so have to put on charger btwn pts. WIFI drop out. Its absolutely ideal for 1-4 scans adhoc but if doing a big list need a formal scanner

Been thinking about handheld US devices for a while to help in clinic etc. however bizarrely the wireless ones are actually more inconvenient for me. Anyone with experience of #ge #vscan?

@Elin_Lindberg1 There is compromise with the vscan currently- can you ask GE about adding labelling to the #vscan app? All other handhelds allow you to add left/right, sagittal/transverse. Disappointing that #vscanair app doesn’t allow image labels
