@ThePhDPlace Personally I believe no input no authorship and would refuse it if I was offered it if I did no work. Also many journals ask how much input each author has. Saying that, not everyone takes the same stance and so I would check with your supervisor for the sake of politics (sadly)

@ashleyrattner K-dramas - there are some great ones and enough to keep you occupied for weeks! Also lots of choice

@ThePhDPlace Attend if you want to, don’t if you don’t want to - you will be sent the certificate if you don’t go and you have gained your doctorate either way- your choice and for no one else to judge.

@PhDVoice @PostdocVoice Paper publishing is not mandatory - no PhD student passes or fails on this- it does make a difference when going for academic jobs but if not wanting to go into academia then not necessary. Each student is different, each set circumstances is different - there is no right answer
English

How many papers do you think a PhD student *should* publish during their PhD?

@MonkeyPaws7 @WMFireDogs Yes - same - used “step”and he would feel more carefully. It did not take long for him to learn and it really helped him.
English

@hackman_dr @WMFireDogs We taught our dog the word Step. When we said that she would reach out with a paw to feel ahead for a kerb or a step.

Today is the third day of Kai’s new life as a blind dog.
I don’t know how long this will be for, or where this story goes, but I do know he wagged his tail more today than yesterday 🙏🏼
I’m looking for #blinddogtoys, this is new to us, any suggestions or recommendations??

@MashManMandela @DarrenJM73 @EleanorMorton In Scotland the orange ones that I call a swede are called turnips - caused so much confusion when I first moved here!
English
@DarrenJM73 @EleanorMorton Interesting… cos Im south (Wiltshire/Dorset) and we call a swede (yellow) a swede, and as you say you can’t find the turnips (white) for sale much these days
English

@oldnorthroad Been there and won, it is a great word- also found that “whom”was another hill I was prepared to stand firm on a few years back! *cheering you on from the sidelines in sunny dundee*
