As a huge Tech guy I hv no problem w Tech not playing Sorsby. We totally got screwed on this deal. But he broke the rules. Plain & simple. But I will also expect every school that this happens to in the future (and I suspected it will be ALOT!!) to eat a bullet like Tech is about to have to do. No exceptions. No excuses. Hard stop.

In the complaint, the Big 12 acknowledges that its members desire to hold a vote to sanction Texas Tech should it go forward with playing Sorsby. Obviously this has been hand waved at/alluded to, but here it is spelled out in court docs

The Big 12 has filed a complaint in federal court against Texas Tech, Texas AG Ken Paxton and more, seeking declaratory judgement and a preliminary injunction to enforce its rules re: the ongoing Brendan Sorsby saga, per court docs.

This is not hard. Texas Tech can say Sorsby won't play in games but we'll keep supporting him. They have not said it. The only issue anyone has is him playing in games. Texas Tech has had all week to rule that out and they have not done so.

No but this isn’t abt that. Tech is in a terrible position. They told the player they had his back. As they do 💯. Thinking they wud support him thru his recovery but thinking no way he is allowed to play. The injunction completely threw everyone off guard and Tech is now in a terrible position bc they can’t just abandon him now. It’s going to take a few weeks to navigate the waters of this but I truly don’t think he plays. A lot of staff’s say they care- but Tech’s staff truly does. I’ve seen it. All these bullshit assholes pretending their school wudnt do what Tech is doing now are fools at best. Lank kiffin / Sark wud be telling the world “the court ruled he’s eligible. What’s the problem? He’s playing” but we are Tech and unfortunately we don’t get that benefit. Is what it is. We will be fine q Hammond but Sorsby wud hv been a game changer.
