@azamsharp SwiftUI is so much faster it’s not even close. While it’s constantly improving there are still some complex things it can’t do, but you can always reach down into UIKit for those things so there’s really no reason to stick to largely UIKit.

Would you consider starting a new project in UIKit in 2024 or beyond?

@joforselldev Dropped mine by almost 50% recently by calling and telling them I wanted to leave…except I *actually* wanted to leave 😄 Managed to convince me to stay with a price match and the convenience of not having to set up a new router lol

Just decreased my internet costs by 30% by calling my ISP and just asking them to lower the price. Kinda feels like cheating 😅

DRM on digital books is such a head ache… just bought Abercrombie’s ‘The Trouble With Peace’ a second time to side step a bunch of bullshit with Adobes DRM software and different vendor locks and libraries. Isn’t there a more frictionless way to go about this?

@joforselldev Have you considered opening an LLC in Delaware? You can do it online and I think that corporate tax is 0 there.

Anyone experienced with making money from App Store as a hobby in Sweden? I made 15000SEK in 2023, now I have to pay roughly 5000SEK in taxes and 5000SEK in fees (egenavgifter), so ultimately around a third goes in my pocket. Is this standard? Am I missing something?

@Qw4z1 Been toying with that thought, especially since it seems to keep growing, albeit slowly 😅 Can I use the 25k I put in as share capital somehow? I’m guessing the fees would apply regardless? What else is deductible, maybe the developer account fee and hosting fees?

@joforselldev Set up a company preferably a Swedish AB and move everything in there. Required share capital is only 25ksek now. Gives you more options on what to do with the money you earn (eg buying yourself a tex free x-mas present every year). Basic bookkeeping is free and easy w Dooer.

@mikaela__caron It is! Figuring out SQL a little more has also been super interesting, with a use case that takes advantage of the relational parts 😊 Really makes me sad I didn’t know this back when I made my own app!

If your Swift Vapor app is leaking memory and you can’t figure out why/where, I recommend trying out jemalloc. Still not sure what in the Vapor framework causes the leak but adding it to my Heroku dyno fixed it 🤩 Now suffering from backend hubris after managing this fix 😅
