So I wanted to take a moment to shoutout the person that started it all, & someone that I view as a big brother: @mkhoops2.
During the pod I talked about how I watched guys like @_LarroHoops & @klahoops join forces like Jim & Daryl from the office, & go onto create Bulls101 — which eventually turned into @SwishTheory. (s/o @chisportsross)
A guy like @Salim_BGhoops who used to run BullsGold, etc. I viewed those guys as big brothers & they laid the foundation for all the fun that we have in there these days.
It’s a Madhouse in there these days but it’s an absolutely great place to network, collab, shoot the shit… etc, but really just a great place to TALK BALL, & to grow your perspective on the game.

I don’t understand posts trashing a player. You’re just inviting hateful comments and not doing anything productive. If the player is underperforming, point out ways they can improve. Be solution-based rather than just complaining.

AK can shut the fuck up about championship goals. GTFO. He's done not a god damn fucking thing in his entire tenure here that is a move that even fucking remotely moves the needle in that direction. He makes short cut based, low ceiling moves.
You would be hard pressed to name a franchise that is moving in a direction less likely to ever move into a championship contention window than us.

@Bulls_Peck People give Billy crap but Billy can clearly articulate why he does things and they generally make sense, even when you disagree. With AK…every time I listen it reaffirms that he is not capable of doing this job.

@nate3carp I’d agree with that up until they finally got out of having any outgoing 1st rounders. Best you can say is they are in relatively the same spot now.

AKME is one of the few executive teams I can think of that is even worse than their reputation. Usually fans overreact to how bad their front office is. Bulls fans criticize AKME hard and still don’t accurately describe how bad they are.

To be clear, I wasn’t ranking depth chart. Just listing by position (mostly so I could remember who’s on the team lol). I have no idea how Billy Donovan will utilize minutes, starting lineup.

@FoPoJunior13 It depends on what your goal is, I guess. Yabu is 31 and the Bulls aren’t close to competing for anything, so I’m not sure what the goal is with that. I’d rather have any of: a younger player, a 2nd round pick, or just let Dalen’s contract expire at the end of the year.

@klahoops The Dalen Yabu should be a B. Dalen was lost, Yabu played well last year and on the national team. Athletic big vs lost guard. I like it. You can’t hold draft position as a value. We all know AK hasn’t been great at that. A+ if they can move Patrick Williams.

Bulls trade grades, with the caveat that Vucevic and Coby should have been traded long ago and drafting Dalen was a huge reach in the first place:
1. Huerter/Ivey: B
2. Vucevic/Simons: B+
3. Coby/Sexton: C-
4. Dalen/Yabu: D

@Duarte_Muse I’m torn on that one. I wanted to just keep Ayo and re-sign him, so it’s very sad personally. But if I squint I can see the logic in trading him for 4 2nds and 2 developing (but disappointing) prospects. I’d rather have had Beringer and less 2nds in that case though.

@rcrazgriz @joaosaleite They have zero need to get a player better than Terry because they should not be trying to win games the rest of this season. And yes, I will always judge each trade individually, the Bulls should not forgo adequate compensation just because they have more picks at home.

Bulls had discussed wide variety of options with TWolves over previous months, including Joan Beringer at one point. TWolves love their first-round pick so didn’t budge. Sounds like Rob Dillingham and Leonard Miller are headed to Bulls

@joaosaleite Getting some sort of draft compensation for taking on an extra year of Yabu. We basically just did the Knicks a favor, Yabu is 100% picking up his option which means the Bulls think he can help them win, which hurts their draft stock.

The Chicago Bulls are signing three-time NBA Dunk Contest champion Mac McClung to a two-way contract, per source. He’s in Toronto with the team, where Chicago plays the Raptors tonight.

@Kdekafka I’m on record as having really enjoyed that run. It was very fun basketball. I probably would have started a fire sale right after finding out Lonzo wasn’t coming back the next season. I get why they tried the next year. But then the next, and the next, those were hard to swallow

@klahoops They’ve made some really weird and questionable decisions, yes. But if they had traded Zach at his peak, or let him walk instead of maxing him, we wouldn’t have had “DeBallZach”. Those were fun times. What baffles me is that 1 dude got hurt and Bulls went from contenders to trash

@Kdekafka I’m not sure if they do or not, but Bulls management has not earned much trust based on their track record through 6 years. They’ve struggled with basic concepts of asset management, in my estimation.

@klahoops I think reports regarding lower value in trades because “the Bulls waited too long” are only partially true. What’s indisputable to me is that Bulls media in general tends to blow things out of proportion for rage-bait purposes.
