In 2029, Apophis, a ~370m asteroid, will pass just ~31,000 km from Earth.
That’s ~1/10 the distance to the Moon.
Inside the orbit of geostationary satellites.
Visible to the naked eye.
Impact risk this time is low, but the flyby could shift its future trajectory.
A direct hit would mean a ~1 km crater and regional devastation.
That’s why becoming multiplanetary matters.

I would understand if she included meals or provided regular cleaning, but just to sleep there? I would have been OK with maybe $100 a week, but $150 seems excessive to me. She's mad at me for saying this, but I'm hurt too. How can my own mom charge me as much as a landlord just for a place to sleep? Am I wrong to think that $600 a month is too much just to sleep at my mom's house?

My mom got mad when I told her I would rather live on my own that keep paying her $600 a month in rent.
I'm 25 years old and have been paying $60 a week in rent to my parents for a while now. I recently landed a decent paying job and this morning, I received a message from my mom telling me that from now on, the rent would be $150 per week. I text her back, saying I would rather live elsewhere. I pay for my own food and I'm not willing to pay $150 per week just for a room to sleep in at my own mothers house. With that kind if money, I could rent a small apartment or even split the rent with a friend for less.

Let's frame it another way.
People have become so poor they need to steal food.

Britain has become so lawless that we now have to put security tags on £7.25 steaks. What has happened to this country?

Holy hell. Graham Linehan on Triggernometry just explained exactly how entire societies get taken over — using a party game invented in the Soviet Union.
It’s called Werewolf.
You get a card.
Most people are villagers.
Two people are werewolves.
At “night” everyone closes their eyes.
The werewolves silently pick someone to kill.
Morning comes. A body is revealed. Then the debate begins:
“Who are the secret werewolves among us?”
The werewolves lie with perfect confidence.
They accuse the loudest truth-tellers.
They play the victim.
They sow doubt, division, guilt.
Villagers start turning on each other.
Every day the villagers vote to hang one person.
Most of the time… they hang another innocent villager.
The werewolves almost always win.
The game was created in 1986 by a Moscow psychology student to prove one terrifying thesis:
“An uninformed majority will ALWAYS be defeated by a tiny, coordinated minority that shares hidden information and has no problem lying 24/7.”
Linehan’s unspoken question hangs in the air:
Are we the villagers right now?
Who woke up this morning and silently chose the next victim?
Watch these 60 seconds.
Then look around the room.
Full hair-raising episode linked in bio. Sound on.

I’m not sure Starmer’s popularity is as low as you think. It’s true many believe everything they see and hear in the media but most decent people of reasonable intellect can see that he is a trustworthy man who is making good progress in turning the country around.

I’ve never in my life seen a daily onslaught like it. They don’t just want the government to fail, they want the country to fail
