The following code will tell you if a user's phone is in low power mode, with 100% accuracy, immediate feedback and no network requests.
This strategy loads a 16x16 video made of just 2 black frames as a base64 (text) source. This means no load time for the test asset, which has a total inline weight of 2.4kb.
Put this video immediately inside the body tag and hide it with CSS (base64 src pasted in this thread):

@oaeblog If in Berlin this is a pretty cool resource for expats: kvberlin.de/fuer-patienten… You can search by practitioner language there. And they all accept Kassenpatienten. No private insurance necessary.

Why does a #phd take so long?
I naively wondered why a year or two wasn't enough before I started. A short thread for anyone asking the same, or about to start a PhD...

@jennyhillBBC I was in the middle of a presentation. Had 2 phones go off in parallel. The audience found it very entertaining.

@MushtaqBilalPhD Voila: now you have an ordered list of journals that publish articles on your area of interest.
English

@MushtaqBilalPhD Great compilation! My favourite workflow is missing though: did you know you can use any Scopus search to discover relevant journals? Search for keywords describing your area of interest and then use the ‘analyse search results’ feature to group documents by source.

English

@MushtaqBilalPhD They were helpful when starting out. After a while, I got a feel for the relevant journals. I now use the Scopus "Analyze Search Results" feature. It can provide a breakdown of the journals in which a keyword appears most frequently.

@moritzplatt Thanks for pointing me towards these suggesters. How useful did you find them?
