@icanBadick @9mmballpoint @EvanDShapiro if someone agrees to pay you 20/hour but you get your paycheck and they paid you 15/hour would you really not consider that to be theft?

@9mmballpoint @EvanDShapiro Working for somebody isn't theft. Its an agreement. If you dont like the agreement find other employment. You people are sooooo fucking soft.

@CEMENTPIPES porn is supposed to make you horny so if you’re aroused by porn where it’s obvious no one in the production process was horny at any point it shows a lack of empathy. movies are for enjoyment and it’s dramatically better when you can tell the actors enjoy their role.

@ayashiikick @neurosnowblind @YeClown for the last 15-20 years or so you’ve been able to just download library books by logging in with your library card in the US. even though it’s not the same we tend to operate the same way. download a manga and if we like it we pay the 2-3 thousand yen per volume to buy it

バブルの頂点 タウリン2000mg背面跳び@sasori_yokuneru

@ayashiikick @neurosnowblind @YeClown i’m not sure what japan is like but in the US the public library is pretty central to the way we think about books. libraries here often don’t have manga/LN but the idea that you can usually read a book for free before paying for it is rooted pretty deeply in our culture.

@neurosnowblind @YeClown a lot of people treat piracy like borrowing a copy from a friend so it’s the same reason you would buy your own copy of something after a friend lends it to you

@Heroine__P_ i doubt you’ll be able to find more than a handful of people that agree with both statements. the two primary camps are that both are “understandable, scary, rough, sympathetic” or both are “Dude you sound crazy! No one looks down on you for your height/size! You're insane!”

So today I learned, being insecure about small wiener = understandable, scary, rough, sympathetic Being insecure about height (which people can actually see) = Dude you sound crazy! No one looks down on you for your height! You're insane!

@Keyblader007 @MudaMudaTime it has nothing to do with laziness it’s an incentive issue with the platforms. people asking for the source generates engagement so even though it makes the experience worse it generates better metrics for the platform and the poster.

@MudaMudaTime @AniOrigin Appreciated but the OP should learn to post sources. Tons of anime twitters, instas or Facebooks pull this crap and it’s just lazy.

This manga is probably good and it's on my planned reading list but why is all the praise I see about how diverse and progressive it is rather than about the writing quality
layla (maomao lover) YONAA S2 !!!!@laylaahime

Reasons why you should watch & read witch hat atelier : - ethnic diversity - disabled characters - queer characters - characters with vitiligo (like me) - sa representation - hijabis characters - beautiful characters and art style - author is pro 🍉

@StrayRoyal @Tangemogu @FretCore I think those people do ultimately quit if they don’t actually like it they just complain loudly about whatever they don’t like about it for a while first. i think the actual colonizers to borrow your term consist of like a few hundred extremely loud people that you should ignore

@oopsallbased @Tangemogu @FretCore I don't really agree. Sure having strong opinions is one thing. But when I was a kid and tried out hobbies neither me nor any of the kids I met aggressively tried to call fundamentals of that hobby awful or attempted to get them to change drastically. If we didn't like it we quit

My student was reading Manga in class I asked him to "put the Manga away" "Actually, Ms, it's called anime" (ah-nee-meh) "No, that's manga." "Excuse me, I know more about this than you." "I've been reading Manga and watching anime since before you were born. Don't even try it."

@Aber402 @cencarnacaoq @JayExci @WebWrld8 the left says that in he and way that men say that they are pedophiles and rape is good. that is to say that it’s disturbingly high amount of them especially given how loud they are but you have to be kind of stupid to think that’s the mainstream opinion held by that demographic

@StrayRoyal @Tangemogu @FretCore no i understood the connotation that tourist has in this context. my point is that young people often just have strong opinions that are also stupid and having to hear those opinions is just part and parcel of a new generation getting into a hobby

@oopsallbased @Tangemogu @FretCore I think you're misunderstanding what tourist means. I'm all for people just dipping their toes or checking things out without being experts. But tourists are people who join a fandom, pretend to be fans but actually dislike the medium and try to force major changes

@Brotherlyshave @doctorbattle when it’s a very common or even majority opinion you can probably get away with that kind of broad strokes stereotype but when you’re conflating an entire demographic of people with the worst 1% of them you can and should expect to get clowned on at least a little for doing that

@Brotherlyshave @doctorbattle sure but if someone tweeted “women: i love finding a rich husband and cheating on him all the time. i only like men that are 6’+ and make over a million a year. do you even like men at that point” they would rightly be crucified because it’s not even a little representative
