@rfleury I know this is alpha, is RDI api stable? I think i want to embed it into my FASM macro, but don’t want to change it every month

Whenever I push these, I keep thinking "okay just a fairly minor release". Shortly after, I find myself writing a giant walltext of changelog. Still MANY big things in progress, but this is a big one, with a lot of important fixes and improvements!

"Odin does not have methods as its design philosophy firmly separates data from code. It is Data Oriented." Go is more Data Oriented than Odin. Hell, C++ is more Data Oriented than Odin. Making it difficult to code by not giving users methods, doesn't make Odin "Data Oriented".

@Feoramund Thanks, I'm aware of winemaker from the winelib docs, the docs kind of ambiguous for me on the "The requirements for Winelib are similar to those for Wine. Basically if you can run Wine on your computer then you can run Winelib." part.

@refinism Not such as it is. The makefile created by winemaker makes an executable shell script that runs Wine with your resulting program as a target. It is still a native Linux binary, but Wine (and all of its infrastructure) is needed as the implementation layer of the Win32 API.

Wine can help build C code on Linux that uses the Win32 API. You get ELF programs that talk to Wine directly, and it's easy to setup. You can even get DirectX running. The second picture is showing the OpenWatcom Direct3D9 example code from the year 2004 with no modifications.

@refinism @EskilSteenberg Eskil's logic applies more to C than it does to the topic in general for all programming languages. And I do still disagree with him on this topic because he falls into the HIGHLY competent camp since he knows all of the edge cases and pathological cases.
