@TheClinicalDocJ Agree that there was a genuine reason for the late start and you must also be stressed and anxious, but every patient who comes to the hospital is also feeling the same. He may be right in showing it in a way that is available to him at that moment; and you are the first contact.

I arrived an hour late to a procedural clinic because my SHO's Mother had suddenly died, we had no junior cover, and a patient rapidly deteriorated. I skipped lunch, rushed to the clinic.
I sat first patient down, first thing he said... 'you better offer to pay for my parking'.
