@guideforlovers Casual threesomes aren't inherently unsafe health-wise. You might be prudes about it and think that's not what she should choose to do, but she should be fine if she's been given good sex education.

@SenatorWicker Thank you for saying this, but you stand with your own country's enemy of the people. Since you claim to believe in democracy, the rule of law, and the Western alliance, you cannot also vote the party-line and reject impeachment.

The freedom-loving people of Hungary have voted decisively in favor of democracy and the rule of law. I congratulate them and Peter Magyar, the next prime minister of Hungary. They've rejected the malign influence of Vladimir Putin, the world's most malicious dictator, and decided their own future. I look forward to an even stronger friendship between the United States and our other NATO allies.

@residentadviser Exactly, there are a lot of left-wing people who hate Keir Starmer, as long as Labour doesn't fill the space they'll vote Green. Where else would left-wingers or people who care about Palestine go, Reform?!

It was bound to happen sooner or later, but coming at the beginning of a local election campaign in which his party is expected to make a huge breakthrough, it is pretty much the worst time for Zack Polanski. The nice, middle-class Greens who joined the party because they care deeply about the climate, bunnies and hedgehogs are rebelling against Polanski’s efforts to turn it into a far-left party obsessed with trans issues and Palestine. ✍️ Ross Clark Article | spectator.com/article/zack-p…

@ettingermentum Trump pretty much disproved the idea that low personal favorability would be more important than economic trust. Obviously 2000 wasn't exactly the same as the 2020s, but there's no way that Clinton being a scoundrel would've been worth not letting him keep on juicing the stocks.

@allegedlyterra Zyuganov wouldn't have been allowed to win, if they needed to stuff ballots or stage a coup they'd have done so. The army and the elite still stood behind Yeltsin, or at least against anyone not in the pockets of the oligarchs, as they did in 1993.

@JulianWaller Fidesz have enough backup plans that they just need to keep more than a third of Parliament and the mess could be too big for Magyar to clean up with the limited power he'd have, and they can be back in 2030 or earlier in Trump/Netanyahu fashion. Not inevitable but plausible.

Everyone is talking about the upcoming 🇭🇺 Hungarian elections rn (D-Day: Sunday!), so here's a Hungary regime primer. I'll even throw in a low confidence prediction, even tho [SPOILER] I think the election is basically a coin toss on likely outcome, if not seat distribution.

@LibertyCappy This mostly seems to be based on when the first, second and third world were political terms meaning capitalist, communist and non-aligned blocs, which of course aren't meaningful ways to view the world since 1989.

@ed_dems If that map somehow happened, it'd have been 57 Senate seats at least, 4 of them were under 2.5% wins by Dems (while only PA was a similarly close GOP win). Maybe even more if Republicans could expand the map to states like VA.

@SimeonBrownMP You've left us on our own in the crisis, unlike what Labour did in Covid when they protected us from harm. You should start by focusing on your day job, the health system is collapsing and patients are clogging up EDs not being seen.

The world feels uncertain right now. Conflict in the Middle East, volatile oil markets, global supply chains under pressure. Right here in New Zealand, you feel it every time you pull into a petrol station. It’s real, it’s tough, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. 🧵

The only metric by which you can truly judge the scale/size of a US Presidential election victory is the margin in the tipping point state. This breaks many brains. People desperately want to use the popular vote, or the overall electoral vote. But no, none of this matters.

@th333aaa 168 seats is about what they got when blown out by Blair, a parliament in which that is close to first is one where everyone does terribly by UK standards.

I'll never forget one of the most eye-opening experiences of this happening Was with one of my long term exes for about a year at this point Up and until this moment, took her on 5+ vacations around the world, helped her leave her dogshit city, paid for basically everything, etc. I decided to launch my first biz and had to invest a lot into product and other things Thinking she was a decent/loyal human being, I had her start splitting more trivial things with me Ex: a round of drinks The day I told her to do that she started complaining, bringing up her friends relationships where the guy pays for everything, and quite literally forgot every single thing I did for her She apologized but I left shortly after Women will forget every single thing you've done if their immediate emotional needs aren't where they want them to be And you can't even take this personal - women are intuitively 100x more selfish for survival purposes, but of course at their own demise Which also means by default they can't future predict or think long term, which always hurts them

@LukeTryl @thetimes @lara_spirit 'Sticks to their promises' being the most negative and 'honest' being the most positive aren't consistent, if you don't stick to your promises you aren't honest. Maybe voters have a meaningless view of honesty, but I wouldn't re-hire a flake myself.

In today’s @thetimes @lara_spirit looks at our new polling on leadership attributes. 🌹The PM is underwater on almost all metrics. But positive on honesty. 🌳Badenoch does better than the PM on most and bests Farage on “honesty”, “respecting the public”, “cares about the country” and “saying what she really thinks”. ➡️Farage comes out on top on key attributes of “leader” and “strong” and “wants to change things quickly” 🆕But it’s Andy Burnham who comes out on top of those 3 across most of the leadership attributes tested across the board.

@conorsen The thing you don't get, you piece of shit, is that the system is rigged and the elite are out to screw everyone else over. So you have to work from those premises. Trump wasn't the change agent but candidates will be required to prove they are.

@NicholasTyrone Theresa May had 327 seats with the support of the DUP, if she had 321 seats or less then she could not have won either, and who knows what would have happened from there.
